Because its not a vehicle that people are as likely to choose for traveling specifically. Taking trips with your family is a big reason why many people buy 3 row crossovers. I said it before in that other thread "its not a $50,000 commuter car", the ES is more a $50,000 commuter car someone might buy to get around town and have their family vehicle for trips etc. The TZ is likely to be that family vehicle in somebody's garage. The ES also is not a dedicated EV model, the same model can be had ICE HEV or EV. Designing a whole different EV model 3 row crossover in the TZ and then giving it crummy range is different than just having an EV version of the TX that gets crummy range.
I mean, 270 miles is not great...but I don't think it misses the mark in the same way the TZ does. I would actually buy the ESe, it would make a lot of sense for me actually...but I would just never take it on a trip I would replace the Pacifica with something better like a GLS etc and just always take that even if its just me. Buying the TZ would require me to also buy ANOTHER 3 row vehicle to use for trips and that makes no sense.

"people" aren't only 2+2+dog families like your household. how about the hundreds of thousands of 'snow bird' couples for example that travel hundreds and thousands of miles each fall and spring to get away from their snow hell. so for them the range would be less than ideal, but not a deal breaker. and as you say it's good that it has the hybrid version if someone prefers that. in fact, in micah's youtube review, he says the cars are basically identical besides a bit of engine noise when you hoof it and the hybrid getting better range.
Someone backed into my truck and I just now noticed it. I have no idea where and when it happened. Life ain’t boring! lol.
Ugh! At least thats a comprensive claim

Oh please, I'm not going through this again lol. 3 row crossovers are largely sold to families, they just are. Look up the demographics. I did look them up, its 70-80%. Average number of kids for a US family is 1.97. Bottom line is like it or not...I'm the common buyer for the TZ and it misses the mark for me. Demographics for a sedan are very different than a 3 row crossover, and most families aren't traveling in sedans in this day and age...just look around on the road at what people are driving on trips. Traveling without kids stopping is also less of an issue.
I can't win with you. I think the TZ range is too short, thats a problem for you. I think the ESe range is okay, and THATS an issue. Why don't you just tell me what opinion I can have and I'll have that . Should I think the ESe range sucks? Okay then I think it sucks.

Well, Steve, with all due respect, perhaps if you stopped trying to berate others for their views/statements/opinions (as you do with several people here on Car Chat), perhaps you would not be getting as many of them yourself. Just, politely, something to think about.

I do nothing of the kind. I correct stuff people say that is wrong but I do not berate people for their opinions.
You just can't make up how this kind of stuff is just my life, lol. And I'm a happy guy--don't get me wrong.
And yes I don't see insurance holding a hit and run against me. I have no idea where or when it happened.
Its terrible lol, that kind of thing happens to me too. I was crossing my fingers and turning around 3 times and spitting last night when I said I had never had a collision claim.
Yeah comprehensive/uninsured motorist for that, should be okay. Only thing to watch for, when Progressive hikes your rates ( ) a comp claim will work against a rate you would be quoted by another company.

There was a time when there was this particular dent, often on both sides, on a Camry. Forgot which generation it was, but almost without a fail every Camry of that particular generation had it. Probably the pre-backup camera generations. Welcome to the club, lol.

Part of it is the flimsy materials that some of today's "bumpers" are made of.
