Look there are auto-climate control people, and there are non-auto-climate control people. There's no convincing the other side, might as well be politics lol.
I lovvvve auto A/C. Set it and forget it, that's the point.
I may change temps from 68-72 but that's normal... to fine tune it. Some people will literally never change it, ever. My stepdad was like that, never budged from 70.
When I get into a rental with no auto A/C I have to adjust it like 3000 times.
Auto A/C is great.
I will say that lower end auto systems do not work well, any decent system is great though. Something like a 4runner for example doesn't have a good auto system
I have cars with FULLY manual control up to per-vent 4 zone auto with IR compensation and it honestly doesn't bother me too much having full manual but the high end automatic cars literally feel perfect at all times to the point I have once came back from FL in the 80s back to snow on the ground and never felt a temp shift.
I thought everybody knew about the winter mode for the wipers! I’ve used it before in the snow and ice. It keeps the wipers up high over the defrost vents.
What I think is funny about wiper winter mode, at least on my GS, is that it places the wipers up and away from the heating elements in the windshield that are there to help thaw them out...

This is exactly why I thought he was messing with me actually.....I knew cars had elements there so I couldn't comprehend why you would move them

Those heating elements don't work btw, at least in my LX they don't.
The Merc washer fluid heats up from the heat of the engine coolant when it's cold to help with that, though I'll never know how it works as it won't ever be driven in snow. But I bet on winter tires it would be a tank.
Hell no. The Auto HVAC in my 2023 is so good I have literally never touched the settings in over two years. Turned it on and off when going windows-down in the summer, yes. Re-enabled sync after my wife jacked up the temp on her side, yes. Never once adjusted the settings. It’s just perfect ALL THE TIME. That’s what luxury should be.
When I have rentals with manual controls I have to tweak them 40x per drive. No f’ing thank you.
Agreed, I am the same way and love auto HVAC but didn’t use it until I read and understood how it worked from this forum (yes I know I’m a little slow). I tried to explain it to my wife but every time I get in my car the settings are all jacked up, it’s in manual mode, all the zones are different, etc. Thank god for the sync button.
Also, in all the cars I’ve had I feel that BMW has the best implementation of auto HVAC.
