just because you don't use them doesn't make them useless for all.
Well, isn't that the topic of this thread in the first place LOL....what different posters here consider useless or not? Not all of us have the same priorities or habits behind the wheel......I tend to be somewhat old-school when it comes to a number of electronic features.
Power rear sunshade is a godsend if you have the sun behind your back and have a lot of reflective piano black plastic + glossy infotainment screen. Which unfortunately applies to most new cars.
The outside mirror tilt down when reversing can be useful to see curbs and tricycles when backing.
Only Lexus with the memory position feature does this mirror dipping maneuver.
1) When in reverse, select "R" and move the mirror controls to see down and out as needed. Repeat for "L".
2) When either "R" or "L" is selected and you are in Reverse, both mirrors will move to the dipped location.
2a) If the mirror selector is Not showing L or R, the dipping feature is defeated, and the mirrors don't move down.
While there are three (3) memory positions for the mirrors/seat/steering wheel going forward, there is only one (1) position for all drivers in reverse.
Note: Lexi older than about 2010 did not have customizable mirror dipping. When enabled, the mirrors just moved straight down 4 or 5 degrees from
the memorized going forward position.
I wanna see what you're talking about, pic please someone.
And btw, my rear wiper is also useless too.
Even with a new blade it doesn't do anything. Lol
The physical tachometer ring is motorized and can move back and forth to provide two different views. One has a central tachometer and small area where some information can be displayer, and in the other view, the tachometer is shoved to the right, making room for a larger information display on the left.
You could just... I don't know, have a bigger screen, or have a constant multi-information display like in the F models. But, this is cooler! Also, the LFA had roughly the same thing:
