General Car Conversation 2025 - Part 2
In general, I agree with you. But this guy can fix about anything (within his scope). We had some imperfections around one of the LX's headlights, looks brand new. Matched Lexus silver perfectly.
But yeah I'm taking it to Mercedes body to get fixed, this bumper.

thanks. so when you say 'with power washer' do you apply this with a cloth/sponge from this huge container, let it sit, then power wash off?
thanks. appears to be about 4x the price of bayeaux's 3d recommendation.
For bugs what you want is this:

Even before you hand wash. Spray the bugs with this, let it dwell for 5 minutes or so, then foam then wash. I spray this on the front end after a trip while I am in line at the carwash and the wash removes all the bugs.

90* out and I'm doing some yard work before going to the shop, the Jetta makes a fantastic cool box to take breaks in. (Real reason is I'm testing to make sure the fan controller I replaced works correctly)
Ahh so there's the infamous Jetta lol!
You need one of those giant garage's like Car Wizard has to store all your vehicles. There's probably parts of rural Ohio that you could get a giant pole barn garage and store 20 vehicles comfortably.

Would be amazing to keep everything I don't drive too often at one location, I can keep the 4 cars we actually use at home and the rest are only 20 min away. The Jetta somehow ended up becoming my wife's preferred daily but I have had it yesterday/today to fix a few things. Almost totally sorted out now thankfully, just needs an alignment and parking brake cables to be back to 100% function

Currently working on selling some overseas properties and buying 20-30 acres here and doing exactly that!

I see you started a thread in the Clubhouse about selling overseas properties. My sister has 2 properties in Bulgaria that she's fixing up and will ultimately sell. She's there right now taking care of some loose ends. I was going to post in that thread but I don't have enough knowledge in that area.
Sweet! Good luck with that.
It's hilarious that your wife enjoys driving that Jetta.

Honestly I am over driving beaters and this year I have been just driving a W12 to work and suffering the extra step of needing to bring extra clothes and shoes. It's been 100% worth it as well
I was not expecting it at all TBH, I was avoiding her being in it since it's high NVH and manual but once I got it repaired enough to drive around and took it home there was one time we took it to the store because it was the fastest car to just jump in. On the way back she insisted she be allowed to do laps in the subdivision until she could figure out how to drive a manual, she was out for over 2 hours practicing and since then she has dailyed the car. Really surprised me but now her LS460 doesn't get driven much and I am STILL STUCK WITH THE DAMN JEEP FOR WORK.
My money says she's drifting and smoking tires when left unsupervised. Haha

Oh I know she is, there are tire bits behind the left front wheel. I warned her if she ruins the new clutch that I WILL make her install a replacement lol! She is asking me if it is possible to install a larger turbo and tune it so it "whistles louder" and I am questioning if I am the only sane person in my family who likes daily cars to be quiet
