I have not..yet. Buddy of mine offered to let me take his C8 Z06 around the track but honestly I’m too afraid to do it.

You break, you buy!! 🫣

In the big horsepower cars you’re the hunted.

In little 4 banger go karts, you’re the hunter.💀

I don’t expect that most Corvette owners care what engines are used in F1 cars. Two separate things.

he referred to 'hybrid crap' which is rather laughable since the whole non-ev car industry is going hybrid.

but certainly this new NA corvette is a remarkable beast.

but rumor is "The Corvette Zora is a highly anticipated, super-powered version of the Chevrolet Corvette C8, rumored to be a hybrid-electric, all-wheel-drive supercar with over 1,200 horsepower."

Yeah by force, and that's gonna backfire too. Watch. Mercedes already backtracked on saying the V8 coming is a hybrid only. I don't care about 1200hp and batteries, I only want the pure 100% ICE that produces 1068hp. I think that's quite enough. 150mph trap speed in the 1/4 passes my test. The vast majority of Corvette owners feel the same I would wager.

Didn't realize a seven figure number of domestic pickups sold a year (by far what sells the most in America) are hybrids either.....

Corvette people are gonna scoff at it. Or, not desire it over a ZR1.... the vast majority.

It's not even confirmed 100% to be coming out, there is no release date. And the E-ray is 2% of Vette sales. 2% all of the sudden matters when for many, many years I've been told 2-5% doesn't matter when it comes to a killed V6 option, for example. Lol.

True the classic corvette buyer, who is 60+, still wants a true loud and proud American v8 only. However, the industry wants an average younger age in their metrics and in their repeat buyer list. One way is to add more powertrain options, appeal to a broader demographic, who would never have considered a vette.

The c amg conundrum, was that going to a four cylinder hybrid from a v8. An inline 6 hybrid setup would be something more palpable. Side note, toyota is about to do the same exact misstep with one of their Lexus vehicles in the near future.

The only one I would buy is that. The ZR1 is amazing but the price and lack of AWD is a turnoff to me for what you get, something like the Zora is probably the closest thing I'll ever get a chance to have to an AWD vette.

RWD is great and all on track but much harder to abuse the limit of a car day to day with

That's right....the ZR1 isn't AWD. Yet can still do 0-60 in 2.2??? Insanity. I'd rather have a RWD Corvette...

Have you been in 1000+ HP cars?

RWD stuff literally don't hook under 80 and you just can't use them on the street much. The AWD stuff though like GTRs and R8s and M5s are way more usable and stupid fast 0-60

Of course I haven't. But it's ballsy to make that RWD. Very ballsy. In a good way. How much more "stupid fast" can you get than 2.2 seconds, really? The fact that it can pull that off RWD only is a feat itself.

My car does that and I've been in cars that do 1.6 so yeah it gets way faster but all of those cars are AWD
