miles from home total range showing 45.

 

exit in 9 miles. Home in 26. GPS and range reading exactly the same

 

And it boredom sets in, fire up the turbocharged B58 and mash the throttle

 

Gas tank has to be close to empty as possible. Haha 🍿

It sure is. Made it home guys. Played with a few settings. 2 main things: 1) Keep it under 80 and I knew once I exited the highway, I could let the EV mode and Hybrid mode shine and take us home. Wife had no clue of the situation. She was busy reading her kindle.

On the highway it was showing I had 29 miles of EV range and 39 miles of range overall. Switched over to EV range and ran all of it out which left me with I believe 8-9 miles of ⛽️ left. By that time I was 1-2 miles from home.









Total mileage trip since I unplugged it from the charger earlier today.



Mileage so far since refueling on Tuesday after today’s road trip. Subject to increase as I plan on charging tonight. May refuel tomorrow or wait until Monday. Either way I have at least 45-50 miles of range in the garage 🔌🪫🔋

 

I’ve been playing this little game in my Prius for years (every tank honestly) and got some experience with it when I had the PHEV Rav. This time, I decided to deplete the EV range first and save the gas because I remember the one time I ran the PHEV Rav dry and continued on using EV mode, without gas, the AC didn’t blow cold.

Not sure if it’s the same with BMW plug in but in case, I didn’t want to go without AC!!

It’s a loaner PHEV X5. There is no PHEV X7 for some inexplicable reason!

 

My wife reminds me every exit to get gas once the needle gets below 1/2 tank. Lol

It's ok, at my age I break every 100 miles anyway.
I stopped being in a hurry when I travel because with my ptsd I can't handle the stress and anxiety anymore.
