Haha, there is some issue with one of the passenger sunshades where they had to order a part and he let them keep it for several weeks with a loaner instead of just taking it back when the part comes back in

Felt like eco mode. I’ve seen guys mention it on BMW forum.

And you're going to spray bugs off the front of a loaner car? Even I don't do that!
She actually had no idea and doesn’t pay attention. Once I realized we were going to make it home (13 miles away) I said your husband is a mad man and pointed at the fuel range. She glanced at it and went back to reading her kindle.

Yes after midnight I brought out the electric power washer. Just did the front end and the windshield.

It's ok, at my age I break every 100 miles anyway.
I stopped being in a hurry when I travel because with my ptsd I can't handle the stress and anxiety anymore.

Slow and steady like a freight train. 🫸🫷 📣
My wife is always usually asleep. This time she was reading her kindle.

I thought about you when I saw 98 miles to empty.

Honestly doing this doesn’t trigger any kind of stress or anxiety because there are gas stations everywhere. Worst case, I would’ve had to stop before reaching home. I set GPS before I set off and my goal is to beat the initial ETA.

I was running Waze but I switched to Apple Maps because it was showing me a different route, a quicker route to get off the highway sooner. If I followed Waze, I would’ve had to stop before reaching home. Hybrids and EVs shine when they’re not on the highway.

Now if this was in an EV, this would be a different story. I would’ve chickened out.

I passed by 8 gas stations once I exited the highway on our way home. Just to see if I could make it home like I set out to do before starting this trip. Traveling 85-90+mph made it interesting.

That part supposed to arrive this coming week. Has to come from Germany. The only one available in the U.S. arrived damaged.

2 roadtrips in the loaner 🙃🤪

Have a couple planned next month would prefer to take the X7. The X5 is kind of snug.

Does your loaner have any mileage restrictions on it? I remember seeing in the fine print of one of my BMW loaners something like 100 or 150 miles per day. It was never mentioned and probably not enforced unless the dealership wanted to for some reason.

Parked next to a W126 today, thought it was worth a picture. Not the cleanest example, and an unfortunate set of plastic aftermarket headlights...

That looks absolutely ridiculous.

Just upon a glance I wouldn't think that wasn't clean, but the headlights ruin it.

A nice thing about old cars is that the headlights were actually glass... No such thing as headlight jobs then.

If so, it wasn’t pointed out.

My SA I scheduled with wasn’t in so I met with another SA and he didn’t mention any restrictions. He did mention my insurance covered the loaner and I initial some documents on his iPad.

I googled this to see what others said and several mentioned to treat their SA informed them to treat the loaner as your car while their car is in service.

My dealer is 3hrs away. He’s aware of where we live. That’s why he gave me the option to keep the loaner instead of driving back to get our X7 just to turn around and bring it back whenever the part arrives. Have a dealer that’s closer but they never have loaners.

It sounds like you should be OK.

As far as I understand, no oil-facilities were hit, and no tanker-ships damaged...a good sign.

That was accurate at the time I posted it several days ago, but, to update it, some bad news . As of now, some oil facilities have indeed been hit and damaged or destroyed.....and, yes, that could impact the supply of crude and affect gas prices.

Maybe. But, remember.....one cannot sell anything that people aren't actually going to buy. Instead of looking at hybrids, some buyers just might (?) put off vehicle-purchases altogether for a while.

I usually get a new vehicle every 4-6 years, and my present Encore GX is going on 5 years old, but I have been so pleased with it (even with the somewhat gruffy three-pot engine) that I will probably keep it for a while longer....might even get a factory extended warranty if still available. Not because of economics or the tariff/new-vehicle market, but simply because I like it, it fits my driving needs (and wants) almost perfectly, I don't like the dash-infotainment/gauge-system of the later-production Encore GX as much, and the sister Chevy Trailblazer is simply has too much road noise, with not enough sound insulation.

there are people that need new cars. The cost of gas is going up, the most fuel efficient vehicles will be what buyers will be after.

For your plain-Jane average person, sure.

But many, MANY of us can afford way more than just basic transportation with no frills. And we like our big engines.

They canceled the diesel on the Escalade because the take rate was 1 in 20. Fail. What a shock. People with money to drive and keep up a car/truck they love don't care about MPG. The engine is half the fun in the Denali, literally.

My buddy who just bought a Denali exactly like ours but a '21 is chipping his and expects 8mpg lmao.
