General Car Conversation 2025 - Part 2
Car and driver with newer cars doesn't include rollout....and they got 4.0 flat with a new example of a D4 W12 that is a hand built engine that is known to not reach peak power till about 30k miles. Both of mine on stock tunes did 3.8 true 0-60s on draggy and the tuned one is 3.6 so I have direct experience with them vs C&D likely not using A-max mode.
I'm surprised that you actually prefer the look of the LC over an SL, I get it from the performance side that the LC is good enough but that's surprising you prefer the style. I think the SL looks better as a convertible and the LC has some angles that look too tall
The other part of it is the quality of the LC, it puts the SL to shame. It is so solid and overbuilt, like the LS of old.

More excuses lol. Bottom line is the S580 is faster or at least just as fast. C&D tests cars professionally.
Like I said I think the LC500 is one of the best looking cars on the road. It’s just stunning. SL is very ordinary.

I wonder if I’d fit in the SL?

based on that the audi is actually a bit faster since it has a slower 1/4 mile ET but with the same trap speed, aka it's pulling a bit harder toward the end of the run... the S580 just has the transmission advantage for getting off the line quick
They're very similar is my point. The W12 is not the fastest car in the world but he still loves it, which is why its odd he can't understand why those of us who love the LC don't care that there are other faster or higher performance cars.
Let me help you, .3 seconds plus 3.9 is 4.2 and you need to add that .3 to your 1/4 mile as well and your 0-100
Also are you blind to the fact my car is faster to 100 in the exact specs you quoted? Like really man? You are both ignoring the fact they removed rollout from yours AND that even then you will be passed by me at 95 and the gap will be forever increasing past here against a stock version of my car.
It's okay, you only have a V8 version so naturally a decade older 12 will still be competitive but at least be honest with the comparison.

What part of they exclude rollout in yours do you not understand?

I couldn’t possibly care less about performance, I don’t. You miss my point though, you could buy a much faster higher performing flagship sedan but you choose not to because you like other things about your A8s. Same with me and the LC. You say other cars are faster and I couldn’t possibly care less about that, I would still choose the LC because I love the design and quality of it. The fact that an SL63 is much faster and better handling doesn’t impact my choice on any level.
