There is a guy on MBWorld that has his W223 S Class set up as an overlander with a rack and a roof box. I have tried to find pictures lol.
But honestly, I really could get anywhere I wanted to go in my S580...assuming I wasn't worried about hurting it (which I am, hence why I rented that car a couple weekends ago to go to WV.
BTW, Avis refunded me 50% of my rental cost for the bald tires!
I've obviously never done anything like that but I have taken my S Class places that people thought I was totally nuts. In highest suspension mode it lifts a LOT.

Nice win!
I've taken mine on light off-road trails as well, mostly at shoots etc but the off road height works perfectly well to do anything a 6-8 inch ground clearance allows.
If you really wanted to beat on it there are some hilarious videos of some guys in a D3 W12 going up hills with jeeps etc....
The Mercedes def beat me because of the mud, but I took the Sienna on 2 hours of winding mountain dirt road, some of the road so rocky and narrow that two cars wouldn't be able to pass at some points. Lots of cattle guards I had to drive over, I probably went up about 3,000 feet. Did pretty good for a FWD Open diff . Haven't taken the Model Y off road, but lots of people have done it and I understand it does it pretty good
This is painful to watch
Why you want to make us cringe? Haha

Siennas are made to be beat on like a red headed step child.

Honestly you can do a lot with just an ordinary car. I’ve been all over the mountains of WV on off road trails and gravel two rut roads in all manner of cars, RWD cars, FWD cars, AWD cars. I have climbed big mountain hills with grass over the hood. You need AWD to get good traction in some scenarios but honestly you really don’t need an SUV for almost anything that any reasonable person would do.
In fact when I had my Grand Cherokees and I also had AWD Lexus sedans I preferred the sedans when driving in the snow because of the lower center of gravity.

Absolutely true, you just don't want to be on a road with big rocks with no proper clearance. And I've seen the best of them get stuck in deep mud
