Amirza didn’t you say you beat your friend’s M4 in your Tesla?

It wasn't a Tesla, it was my Polestar. And it was a Comp, not a CS, which is an insane car. Also it's RWD. And it was off the line to about 80. He didn't brake boost. Rolling race it was more close. I wouldn't race a CS with anything less than a Model S, that thing would eat my former Polestar for breakfast

CS overall is 25 lbs lighter than the lightest configuration of Competition xDrive. M4 CSL is 149 lbs lighter than the lightest configuration of RWD M4.
Saves somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 lbs. Stock hood is aluminum and weighs about 28 lbs. I don't know what the OE CF hood weighs, but the RW Carbon is 20 lbs, and the Alpha N vented one is 17 lbs.

10lbs doesn't sound like much, but is pretty significant. Imagine you are holding a 10 lbs bowling ball and you put it down. I lost 10 lbs and it actually made quite a difference. Now 25 lbs, doesn't sound like a lot, but seems to make a difference seeing the CS launch. Although there may be more going on than just weight
There are also the obvious trim and fancy bits and the engines are given extra care and the top shelf parts but end result is essentially a hotter factory tune.
Modern German turbo cars are insane in terms of what they can actually do vs what they are tuned to do factory/emissions restricted etc. +200 hp is very expected from software alone for the V8s
BMW designed that entire platform to absolutely destroy the 0-60, refining each bit continuously. The software stack on the tc and lc systems is class dominating. Thankfully recently they decided to keep the next gen i6, and not some c63s abomination, but i havent heard if they also quit the hybrid plans (if they do its gonna be heavy).

- G84 M3: Evolution of the current G80 on the CLAR platform, with a 48v Mild Hybrid S58. Not a full PHEV like the M5 or C63s
- ZA0 M3: Full EV on the Neue Klasse platform. Quad motor, 1,000+ hp
Nobody needs that much horsepower!
