Probably because it's a $100k+ car and he rightly expects not to have to look into issues himself.
agreed,…. we have a scan tool, it’s very easy to reset the light, but the code is still there, but the light is off. For peace of mind, he could run the diagnostic himself to see if the code is still really there
I have one and scanned it. I reset the light back in December and it stayed off until last week. Scanned it again and cleared it, but it came back a couple days later then went off on its own. If it hadn't come back I wouldn't have taken it in.
In order to do any meaningful diagnostics on a MB you need XENTRY, but a basic scan tool will give you a code and let you clear it.
Got it back, all good. They even filled it up with gas! (it was 3/4 tank). I'm amazed they turned it around that quick.
The big downside to that C Class is...this is the rear legroom behind my seat adjusted for me:

Oof, at that point just make it a hatchback or something for practicality lol
In real life, though, a comparison like that reminds me of years ago, when I was driving Toyotas, the service bay of my dealership was working on an almost-brand-new Land Cruiser. As their vehicles were famous for their ruggedness and rarely required any substantial repairs, I took the liberty of asking what was going on. The Service Advisor replied "What did the owner of this Land-Cruiser do?...after spending an arm and a leg for this thing, where did he take it for its first oil change?...... Jiffy Lube. We're trying to clean up the mess."
And I think he had a point........I can remember when some Jiffy-Lube shops were actually shut down by State authorities for ripping off customers.

My Dad had a coworker who had a GS400 he took to JiffyLube and they didn't put oil back in it and he drove off and grenaded the engine. We have a good quick lube place here that isn't a JiffyLube, they do a good job. I take the Pacifica there.
