I don't think that falls under OCD, but I'm no psychologist

Im like patgilm. I get it fixed ASAP. Same day or next. It really bothers me.

Call me crazy, depending on where I’m going and the parking situation will play a part in which vehicle I take. oh yeah weather plays a part as well. I’m currently waiting on the rain to pass over so I can drive the Supra to Whole Foods.

No free advertising. Removed soon as we get it home. Have a collection of dealer license plate frames.

1000% same, if I'm going to a dense area I take a car I don't care about dings/scratches on. None of the nice cars see rain unless I allow it lol

When you hit a pothole that seems just a bit more jolting than usual, do you keep checking under the car and tires several times? And it still bugs you?

When you do something like add an accessory on your car, do you keep going back and checking that you put it on right? That it's not crooked and perfectly aligned? Do you keep checking that you tightened the bolts correctly? Do you keep thinking about it and going back several times a day?

If you answered yes to any of those, it's possible
I wasn’t really questioning myself, I don’t need to answer any of those questions because I know already. My wife makes fun of me pretty much daily.

I also do the same. My crappy car used to be my old Plaid but now that I have my son’s Tucson that’s my go to if the parking situation is bad.

As for the rain, can’t control that but I always check the weather before I wash my cars. If it’s going to rain the next day I don’t wash the cars. I need to have a couple of days where I can enjoy a clean car. I do get mad when I wash my cars and the forecast doesn’t call for rain and it starts raining. I feel like I wasted my time.

Body damage really kills the vibe doesn't it?

My beater is a true beater though hahaha! The 00 Jeep and 01 Jetta, irony is I bought them already with a dents etc and I still felt compelled to clean them up a bit and replace easy stuff. I've not added to their collection of scraps/dents though, ironic considering the damage some of the nice cars have taken on the same time period.

Hey, a large portion of the population has some form of OCD. It definitely runs in my family, my two brothers have it, my son has it, so does my daughter, and my three nieces have it. I have to keep constant control on it. Sometimes I write a post, and I go back and read it hundreds of times and have to fight myself from editing it. Same with emails, reports for work, and even sending text messages. The OCD runs deep in me

This description of the UZ engine is really spot on, I saw this online...

I drove an early LS and was astonished to the point of blinking by the powertrain. Noise and vibration were almost imperceptible. You could hardly tell if the engine was running. Pressing the accelerator produced a nearly silent rush of well-mannered energy as if a million synchronised angels were giving you a shove in the back along an endless channel of greased roller-bearings.

Anyway, we offered asking and they took someone else’s offer and just yesterday I got a call from my realtor that that contract fell through. Not sure what to do but that garage really bothers me.
the struggle is real.
i have the 2+1 garage but 2 side means the cars are really too close together and the 1 side door is much too tight for my ioniq. but we 'struggle by'.
i will either get it remodeled somehow if possible, or move. i want 3 separate doors with plenty of space for each bay/car.

Oh and another garage door at the far end, leading to a patio in the backyard big enough for 5-6 cars.
that's a garage with an rv garage too. i was just at a new house today with one. took pics.

technically a 2 car + rv but even the 2 car was REALLY wide (love it). i don't need an rv height. and like the one you saw, there was an exit door as well as entrance.

in 9 years, a ton of houses have double or more in value. and while it represents a hedge against inflation, the actual value gain isn't that great due to devaluation of the dollar / inflation plus all the costs you've paid (property taxes, maintenance, etc).

I would be an absolute fool to sell and leave this amazing weather. When I retire, probably a different story.
that's funny because most people retire to where they get good weather. i don't see you moving to upstate NY to save money, lol.

My property taxes are only $11k, my homeowners insurance is only $1800, and my mortgage interest rate is 2.79 percent. No reason to sell or move. Noted on the devaluation of the dollar.

NY...hell no 🤣 Florida, it's on my list

"Only 11k"? You pay almost a grand a month for property taxes on top of California's other expenses? Wow.

Lol our PT bill is like $1400 a year.

That's pretty low for a house valued at $1.3M. My coworkers in Texas pay more than me. One of my coworkers homes is half the value of mine and pays $15k a year. $11k is noise level, if I put my house for sale, it will sell in one weekend with multiple offers over asking price. On the other hand, my friend in Houston has a house twice my size, and it barely gone up $20k in 10 years since he bought it, and it's nicer than my house. I would rather own a home here, by the time I retire it will probably go up another million

Ahh, that is not bad at all for a house worth that much, I stand corrected.

Well, here's the caveat...if I sold my house and bought another house here, I would probably be paying around $1.4M, and my property taxes would double, because it's 1.3 percent of the price you pay. So whenever my wife starts telling me we should sell and buy another house, I roll my eyes 🤣
