2021 Buick Encore GX....has a few quirks.
Brake pads squeak under some cool/cold conditions....not continuously.
1500-RPM-fast-idle for the engine when cold or after sitting a little while is almost right at the engine's torque-peak, so you need to let it idle a little and drop down to around 1000 RPM before shifting into gear. Otherwise, if you don't, the engine really tugs at the transmission, and you have to hold it back with a fair amount of brake pressure.
The electronics for the rear hatch-release and pop-up display in the windshield sometimes have a mind of their own, releasing the trunk lid with a simple door-opening or having to reset the info shown in the display.

Also the engine intake air box is really finnicky. It is tough to get it lined up perfectly where it seals all the way... ask me how I know.
That's pretty cool! Is it safe to conclude my 2023 IS350 can also do the same thing?Originally Posted by arentz07

Probably worth mentioning, the #1 quirk for any IS F-Sport would be the sliding gauges. Seems to be the first thing anyone mentions in a review.

My Tesla does it also, but I prefer how Lexus did it. Compared to the Tesla, I think there was an extra second or two delay on the Lexus before the final wipe.Originally Posted by SW17LS

Hi friends,
Not really a quirk but kind of?
I noticed a while back when clocking my odometer against mile markers on the highway it's almost exactly 2 mph low.
Another words, when my speedo says I'm doing 70 mph, I'm actually doing 68mph,... I think.

it's common for speedos to read slightly high, car companies could get in big trouble if it was the opposite!
actually years ago when top gear attempted to design a car 'specifically for the elderly' that was something jeremy addressed:
he (although i imagine it was a production member off camera lol) replaced the fiat multipla's 120 mph speedo with a 20 mph one! so the old people are happy since they're "only doing 15" but aren't actually holding anyone up now lmao

Yes, your car can do it, too.Originally Posted by Fizzboy7

And, I agree. The sliding gauges are awesome.
One quirk of our X3 is the parking sensors occasionally trigger when we're backing out of our garage, and the whole vehicle comes to an abrupt stop. It's pretty annoying. The best way to work around it seems to be to move very slowly, like, exceedingly slowly.

All Toyota/Lexus speedometers read 2MPH low at highway speed.Originally Posted by Margate330

......and one can safely assume that is with stock tires/wheels. Start screwing around with aftermarket or non-stock sizes and you can, in some cases, screw up the reading even more.
Not really any design quirks with my Lexus vehicles that were out of the norm. If there was something it based on personal ownership.
However, on my 1990 BMW 325ic which I had from 1991 to 1996, it had a manual convertible top. It seemed that everytime I got in the car, the top of back corner of the driver's side window would catch on the top and there would be a gap between the window and the frame. I had to lower the window a bit and then raise again to get the tight fit.

Couple quirks/features: On my 2016 IS350 I would rewind live radio.
On my Durango you could rewind the last two XM/Sirius stations used pretty far back.

on the MBUX in the GLE you can have up to 10 'smart favorites' for XM where it's basically always tuned to those channels, so no matter what when you change the station you're always getting exactly the beginning of the next song!Originally Posted by TheRas900
On my Integra, you can rewind any XM station for the duration of your travel. Neat feature!
it can rewind pretty far too, and even lets you skip to exactly the start/finish of a song... the trackpad is pretty crap but the touch screen at least works fairly well

Inaccurate/very conservative DTE on every Toyota/Lexus model🥴
My mirrors fold in whenever they want to. I’ve never set them to do this and they don’t always fold.
