Are Buicks For Old People? POLL
I'm in a separate category from the poll. I think Buicks are for everyone who likes them, regardless of age. Me and my best friend liked them in high school (1960s), many years ago, and I like them now. Unfortunately, their quality tanked from the 1970s through the 2000s before rebounding about 10 years ago, partly with Opel and Daewoo-based products.
28 here and I've never had a customer under 50 with one, they are nice cars but absolutely targeted and bought by the boomer or older generations.
People my age and slightly older have zero interest, we would all rather have muscle or foreign cars.

The only time I have ever seen a Buick driven by anybody born after the assassination of JFK, it was because they were in college and got a deal on a 90's LeSabre or something similar as a college beater, not because they sought out Buick.
In my experience, people looking for a GM built crossover are just buying Chevy or GMC branded vehicles.

I'm 37 years old and I don't hate GM...I own a 23' Corvette. That being said, I have never, and most likely will never, consider a Buick. Boring cars that are meant to drive 10mph under the speed limit at all times.
Buick has made plenty of attractive concepts over the last several years but there production vehicles are usually completely devoid of sex appeal. What young person would be attracted to a product line that stirs no emotion in you whatsoever? Consumer demographics say it all - the cars might not be for older people, but older people certainly love them and make up the vast majority of owners.
I will say I'll be very interested in the consumer data for the Buick Envista. That is one recent introduction that might start to change things.

We bought a new CUV a few weeks ago and while I was shopping, I showed my wife the Buick Envision to see if it was something to consider. She liked it well enough but when she learned its country of origin it was a firm no. Kind of surprised me, but I can easily see her point.
The "Buick is for old people" seems to be winning the vote lolk
What did you wind up getting?

If I were shopping in this segment, I would definitely consider it over other options. First Buick I’ve ever said anything like this about
The Envista is an interesting concept, but, (apparantly) because of the very low Chevy-Trax-like-price (starting at only 23K), lacks a number of features that a lot of crossover buyers want. AWD is not available. The larger 1.3L Turbo-Three from the Encore GX is not available...it makes do with the smaller 1.2L. It uses a 6-speed automatic instead of the more flexible 9-speed from the GX. A 360-view-camera is not available in any trim-option (that might be a deal-breaker for me). The interior only comes in one basic color (black). And it uses a beam rear suspension instead of the multi-links from the AWD GX. I do like the 17" wheels and 60-series tires on the base version, though.....that will help ensure a smooth ride.

I have to at least partly agree on that....Chinese manufacture would probably be out for me, too. At least the Encore GX is built in South Korea......with Union labor.
Despite Union labor, Buicks and Chevys built in the GM-Korean assembly plant still have reasonable (by today's standards) base prices from 19K to 33K...so the idea that Unions drive prices way up is not always true.
