Are Buicks For Old People? POLL

The truth is that they are for young and old. Just ask what is (now) the world's largest new-vehicle market...the Chinese. Average Buick buyer age....38.
The truth is that Buicks in America have a way-outdated image. The Chinese know better.

Not only that, but Buick ownership is also a long-standing tradition in China. The last Chinese Emperor, in the early 20th century, had them. So did Chang-Kai-Shek. So did Mao, Chou-En-Lai, and a number of other high-ranking dignitaries.
Of course, China, being a backward and primitive country until relatively recently, wasn't much of a car market in general until its booming economy and enormous population finally got enough income to afford new vehicles, period.

The product while decent is nothing extraordinary at all, which will make overcoming that stigma here very, very hard.
It is possible, look at Hyundai and Kia, but they have worked really hard to make excellent products and Buick (and GM as a whole, honestly) hasn’t.
oh and the 90s roadmaster is probably the last "proper car" buick made so for that i appreciate it... not to mention the seats are super comfy
The '63-65 Riviera is the one that auto historians seem to croon about the most...although the classic boat-tail '71 was probably the most striking in looks. But the quality of the '71 was junk compared to the '63....all big GM cars took a nose-dive in quality from '70 to '71 in body and interior workmanship.

To be honest, though, even if I could find one in the shape I'd want (mint or near-mint condition), I probably wouldn't buy it, for two reasons. First, even though GM's carburators, back then, usually didn't have as many problems that those on Chrysler vehicles did, I swore I'd never have another vehicle with a carb or breaker-point ignition. And I've kept that promise. Second, the size, bulk, and low-ground-clearance of those vehicles are simply too much for the conditions I face driving today. Even today's Lacrosse was a little too much. The Encore GX, although clearly too small for your family, is just perfect for me, both inside and out. Mary Barra, IMO, has made LOTS of goofs, but, if there's one thing that she did right, it was in approving the GX and Trailblazer....and having them built with Union labor.
I also firmly believe the Buick brand is a huge part of why you chose the Encore GX
and yes the corvette engine... my old auto shop teacher was proud that his caprice and roadmaster had "the corvette engine" but it was a 5.7 liter V8 in a state that barely made over 250 hp lol
nevertheless i appreciate the b-body
