Talked to the owner. He said he’s changed brake fluid, pads, rotors, and obviously tires. He saiid just fluid and pads and you can turn some good laps. He doesn’t do full sessions which are 30 min each and he said after two sessions he goes to top off the battery at 100%

Sometimes I do. But even when you don't, it makes so much torque, so quickly that it takes a moment for the traction control to catch on when driving "exuberantly". Gotta pay to play. Yes, it is RWD.

Does/has anyone taken their EVs to a track (road course or drag)? Or is everyone a bunch of street racers? 😂

I'm a part time street racer. Very, very part time . I've been invited by a friend to a drag track in SoCal, but never had time to take him up on it

Honda/Acura is going on an EV tour with the Prologue/ZDX. I signed up for a drive this Saturday at MetLife stadium so I'll report back in on my thoughts. I haven't driven any of the GM EVs before so this will be interesting to try

The Prologue has received pretty good reviews. Looking forward to your thoughts.

The annoying part is no kids are allowed on the driving portion so my wife will stay back with them while I flog the cars

Edit: link to sign up for other cities. LA and SF recently passed, but Dallas, Chicago, and Miami are on the docket

In the Polestar off the line I can consistently get a 3.7 second 0 to 60 on dry roads, and with cold AS tires. My Y I can consistently get 4.6 seconds. You do start feeling the weight and some breaking in traction if going around a corner too fast, but TC usually reigns you in

My buddy in his Evo 8. Had to shorten the clip down to 6 seconds for it to fit here. For the full clip go to 5:40 mark is when the M3P on Hoosiers comes in the picture.

That's very impressive, but I can see your friend is an experienced driver driving a modded track focused car. I don't know anything about that M3P or it's driver, he could have been doing a cool down lap for all I know.

In the quote you pulled, I'm talking about normal stock cars driving on normal roads with normal tires, not ripping around a curve at 90 mph 🤣

That said, if I was to suddenly get into doing laps on a track, I would probably do it in a Toyota 86 or a Miata, like this one my coworker takes to the track

I’ll admit my friend is a “driver mod”. For as the M3P driver, he’s on Hoosiers. He runs a good time. My friend was running 6-7 secs quicker pace.

Miatas are great cheap cars to start on but they can surely put a damper on a hot lap. With that being said some guys haul tail in them. Momentum cars. Flat out around the track, never touching brakes, maybe a lift here or there. 86s are good track cars as well. S2ks another good option. There were a lot of GT3 RS, GT4s, even a GT2 and handful of C8 Z06s and of course your Supras, E36 and E46s. Typical track cars you normally see. Even saw a stock looking 10th gen Civic Si. He held his own

I think you should track your M3P or pick up a track car. I promise you will love it. Actually go to a track event with your buddy with the Miata and do a ride along. It’s a rush!! I drove over 1,300 miles over the weekend just to hop on the track. My buddies and I are wanting to go to Luguna one coming year.

He's definitely an amazing driver. I'll definitely consider hitting the track at least once, but no promises, as busy work schedule and weekends are reserved for the family.

Are you talking about Luguna Seca? It's about an hour from me, if you ever hit the track I'll come up there to meet you!
