No doubt.
But fear not; I knew I would take a beating on our '18 Model 3 Mid Range as an early adopter. Wifey and I came to love this car.
and i'm with you, that's all that matters. people who buy cars worrying about depreciation should just buy a beater and be done with it.
my 2021 lc500 has under 10k miles on it and i've no doubt it's lost a ton of value.
i think the now 'old' Y will depreciate even more badly than before as people jump to the new ones and the old ones have to be sold cheap.
Resale plummets once discounts are added. The refreshed Y is up in price, so either Tesla plans for production cuts (not likely) or rebates will be a continued selling feature.

I think resale is an important aspect for any car buyer. There is a sweet spot for trading in.

I do see some inventory performance model y, new no miles with 10% off. Wonder if they'll dig deeper?
demand is down. Either cut production or the discounts continue. The discount is there but the interest rate seems quite high

Those are the pre refresh models they are getting rid of, what are you basing that statement on? The new Model just went on sale

can't follow that, but the only model Y out right now is the loaded launch edition. at some point other versions will be released, but tesla wants to unload all the pre refresh Y's first.

why would it matter in your case for example, since you sell about once a century.

Tesla increased their prices in Canada. For every model. (Before the New Y) Perhaps Tesla is gonna do the domestic sales method where the MSRP is crazy high and big discounts are applied to get buyers into the showroom

ok then. 'perhaps' they had less availability in canada and decided to raise prices figuring they had enough for people who really wanted one and would pay the raised prices. supply/demand.

i've never heard of tesla doing discounts in the showroom. the final prices are all online including for used ones and demos with discounts.

Tesla did raise the price of Tesla models in the US as well. X and S.

The discount is advertised online. Getting potential buyers into the showroom is important as there are a lot of potential buyers who won’t just buy a car sight unseen…so the test drive is still very important and so is the product showcase. If Tesla is to show growth in sales, Tesla needs to appeal to new buyers so the discount on the price gets them into to the showroom to interact with the product

Just seen 2 truck loads of the New Y's outside of Philly a few hours ago. My mind didn't process what I was looking at until it was too late. Thought these were coming out in a couple months. Will assume 1st deliveries will start this week.

March is 2 weeks away, so I guess that tracks. But wouldn't be surprised if deliveries happen sooner.
I'm actually surprised that they don't have a Y refresh yet at the Tesla Fremont showroom. You have to go to Santa Row in San Jose or Dublin in the East Bay. But yes, they are probably on their way to their destinations to be processed and inspected
My nephew works at the Tesla Fremont facility, he's part of the Semi structural integrity engineering team, but is also responsible for making sure the doors work on the Model 3 and Y, and I'm trying to see if I can get access to the new Model Y. He's been there long enough where hopefully has some clout
@AMIRZA786 Just got a message from Tesla saying that you can schedule a demo drive in the refreshed Y from today through the 23rd at Santana Row, Fremont and Rocklin.
