It's probably an early demo. The only way to know is look at the front, but I didn't want to trespass . Almost everything in this lot looks beat up and a lot of the cars have "Engineering" stamped on them

I wonder where they put the rear trunk latch button. Seems like if they put it under the reflective light car, its a bit too high to reach

doesn't it open by itself as you walk up behind it automatically? my ioniq does.

even if not, unless you're tiny i don't think it would be too high.

Yes it does, even my older Model Y has that feature. The caveat is the phone has to support wideband

Yes, it opens itself but there are some situations when someone might want to manually open it. I have never seen a car with auto open tailgate completely remove the hand latch.

Wifey and I strolled through Santana Row in San Ho on Sunday and saw the new Model Y. This thing looks German! Pictures fail; it looks better in person. Seats are excellent.
I was not such a fan of the 1st Model Y looks; it was a puffed up 3. The Juniper is its own car. It will kill the world.

Your Y hatch opens without using your phone app or hitting the button on it? I've never heard of it having a walk up sensor before.

Edit: I just looked it up. It doesn't appear that our old Y's will work with it.

Sorry you are right, it's My Model 3 that supports UWB. For some reason, I thought my Y also supported it. My current OnePlus 12 doesn't support it anyway

Spent a little bit of time with it over the weekend at the NYC Meatpacking District location. Absolutely LOVELY in this red and all dressed up for the Chinese New Year celebrations in NYC over the weekend too. Haha. Didn't have enough time to get into the nitty gritty on fitment and other things, but to the eye, it looks pretty damn good. So much better than the current Model Y which is not a well styled vehicle in any way IMO. I really do like the rear light bar in itself, but still think everything underneath it is much to flat and simple. No Tesla badge on the front really cleans it up though. Overall, good enough for me to entertain test driving it now, but I much rather a Rivian which was right next door along with Lucid.

A little 1st Gen Optimus love too....

Saw the new Y in person today. Couldn't spend much time with it because I was down in Georgetown with friends and none of them would set foot in the store. Looks really good, red like the one above. I think it will do quite well.

I think it looks outstanding. I also got modern hybrid vibes on the front. I like the back light bar. Too bad there is no HUD, a super advance HUD is totally fitting.

For sure, it was always going to come, this is just reassuring future buyers. And no, third row is and always has been an option
