Let me add this. Let's say I had to travel somewhere that has very sketch infrastructure. Not enough chargers, or they are very far apart, possibly in disrepair etc, where even taking a Tesla can be problematic. In that case if I didn't own a gas car, I would just rent a car for that trip. Problem solved
But I want to drive my amazing car on a trip, not a rental car. I would have no concerns about driving say up 95 where there are lots of chargers, its specifically this trip because there are so few options.

I get that, but if like you say you have issues with charging and you are not willing to take chances that there may be some delays due to charging, than you are limiting yourself to a gasoline powered car. Just speaking for myself, If I did not own the Model Y, I would be willing to still take either our Polestar or our Ioniq knowing that I could run into delays due to chargers being down or limited. But if I knew I was driving somewhere that charging is sketchy or impossible, than I would still keep my same cars (EV's) but would take our Sienna or rent a gasoline car.
If you are going to take the EV plunge, you can do it in stages, like I did. I added our first EV as a commuter, than I slowly replaced our gas cars as I got more acclimated. Now we own 4 EV's and one gas car, which is our Sienna, but we rarely use it. I only keep the Sienna because it's a Minivan, can seat more than 5 people, and is...paid off
To me one of the big factors is what do we get to replace the Pacifica. I don't want to drive the Pacifica on this trip, but if we get a nice SUV that I would like driving, thats a possibility. But leaving my awesome $130,000 car parked and driving a minivan on this trip isnt an option lol

At this point, there are no minivan replacements, thus the reason I still have my Sienna. The only full size SUV I would touch is the Rivian R1S. Hyundai and Kia are coming out with a full size SUV and minivan next year using the same platform as the Ioniq 5/6 and Kia EV6. So if you are looking for a replacement for the Pacifica, next year
There are minivan replacements, it’s just a compromise like anything else. Wouldn’t get an EV for the family vehicle yet, we travel in it too much.
Because we travel a lot, the closest vehicle at this time to replace my Sienna is a Model X, but that is a huge compromise because it only seats 5 while the Sienna seats 8

If you’re only talking about EVs then sure, but there are lots and lots of gas options.
EQS SUV is a closer option than a Model X, availability of 3 rows
You can lease an EQS SUV for like $800 a month. The deals are insane. With the discounts and rebates price is similar to a higher spec model X
Absolutely true, but I also don't want to deal with Electrify America on trips. If you've ever used Tesla charging vs EA, you would know what I mean. I'll do a write up on that one of these days

Mercedes has a deal with Tesla to use their chargers and they will start shipping with their plug soon.
That's definitely a plus, Ill check the link later, but I don't think it goes into affect until next year. But at this time I have no new cars planned until my Polestar lease expires in 2025
