Which do you value more in an EV?
EQS, EQE, i4, Lucid, Rivian's, Lyriq, Model S & X etc all support 350 kW charging (Model S & X support 250 kW charging). If none of those are for you, than you are probably not ready for an EV yet (or the right one hasn't come out)
EDIT
The EQS, EQE, Lyriq, and Lucid would actually get you 5 hours of driving without stopping

Don’t want an EQS or EQE either, Lucid scares me because of the unforeseens of the brand. Lyriq has potential, haven’t driven it yet.
But an EQS isn’t going to get me where I’m going with any range left driving how I drive, and the point is I don’t want to compromise that. And there is no easy way to charge it there. I leave it at a 50kw charger in town, or charge it for days at my cousins house.

So I guess for me the answer is not "range" its "variety of chargers available". I want to be able to decide between multiple charger options on my trip so I'm not beholden to 4 charger slots. Imagine you pull up and theres a 10 car deep line...you're there for hours and theres no other option. The non Tesla options you mention don't improve that

No, what I need are more chargers so that the car I choose isn’t dependent on the charger availability. My issue is the trip I take 4 times a year in my car gives me only the option of 4 chargers in one location to charge, and that’s it. 4 charger bays along 280 miles of road. That’s just not going to work.

1) Get a rental car for that trip 4x/year or drive the Pacifica on that trip
2) Wait a couple years until charging network gets built out in that area
There's no way I'd even consider taking an EV on a trip like that. I assume it's a more remote area (I think you go to WV?)

. I totally get it. One of the reasons I bought the Y was because of robust Tesla charging infrastructure in California. Plenty of working chargers, they are fully maintained and run at peak. I'm in and out in 12 to 15 minutes. And when I reach my brothers house, there are chargers literally half a mile from his house. Around 2024, 2025 things should start getting better as other automakers add the NACS connector so you can charge at Tesla chargers. I don't know about other places, but here in California I'm seeing Tesla continually expanding their charging infrastructure
IMO if you need charging outside of your home, EVs are not a good option as of now. Speaking of EVs, Lyriq does look nice from the behind. Not a fan of the front and have no idea about inside and how it drives.
That's only true if you don't own a Tesla and live or travel to an area that's not EV friendly
Only would need charging outside my home on this one trip I take 3-4 times a year.
... Model Y can be charged up to a range of 3 miles per hour with NEMA 5-15 chargers, while it can be fully charged in 11 to 12 hours using NEMA 14-50 chargers and 7 to 8 hours by a wall connector. The Supercharger charges the vehicle in 25 minutes.
If you go by yourself, sure. Not convenient but not bad. Even if I had a tesla, I wouldn't take it on trips as of now. I want to be able to stop and get quick food where I want. Sitting somewhere for almost half an hour at best is not something I look forwards to on trips..
The Lucid I drove I would say no, it didnt wow me that way...but the i7....

If someone enjoys other features, sure be it. Tesla or not, EV friendly or not... IMO the below is not appealing/convenient at all. But I know a family like you. They take their Y everywhere.

I agree. The question for me is the incredible feel of that i7 in 95% of my normal driving worth the admitted non ideal nature of driving in on a trip which amounts to perhaps 5% of my driving? I honestly am not sure what the answer to that question is.

I would agree until I'm stuck in Staunton for 2 hours trying to charge...
I once got stuck in Bakersfield, CA in 100 F plus weather, more than 200 miles from my destination due to 3 out 4 Electrify America chargers being down (I was driving the Polestar), turning a 7 hour trip into a 10 hour trip, and yet even with that experience I would never go back. It never happened again, but driving a non Tesla, it's always a possibility it can happen again. There are numerous EV owners who faced this one time or another, yet they would also tell you they would never go back regardless
