Hello!
My name is Laura and I'm super excited to be here!
A few years ago I fell in love with the LS400 and have been lusting after a build that would set my car apart from all the rest.
I'm a moderator for the Lexus LS400 Owners page on facebook, so there is a lot of info about my car there as well.
I recently finished the intial build on my Procharged Coach Edition 1997 LS400 and figured this would be a great place to share!
I initially bought the car in February 2018 after spending months looking for just the right car. My first LS400 was a white 1990 with tan interior, and while I really loved the car I definitely wanted something different and not so common. When I stumbled upon a 1997 with 180k miles, perfect grey leather interior and a nearly perfect exterior I fell in love and knew immediately that I had to have THIS particular car. I spent the next year and a half catching up on maintenance and just tidying him up all together, as well as configuring plans for the bracket to mount my procharger, where and how I would relocate my battery, and if I wanted to maintain any features I could potentially lose ( Power Steering, AC, etc.), and where I would need to find certain parts to make sure everything else fit.
After several attempts at getting the mounting position and everything else just right, I had spent every weekend for nearly a month with my fiance and uncle working everything out to get the set up complete.
After a lot of blood, sweat and tears, my baby was finally finished up and ready to go!
I have:
Full custom Exhaust from the stock cats back
315cc 7MGE injectors
MK3 Supra all aluminum radiator
External Trans Cooler
Battery has been relocated to the trunk.
My car is still running the stock ecu, and until very recently was also using the stock transmission with a shift kit.
This is my stock dyno video (I do have the 315cc injectors installed here). The car made 219whp and 204ftlbs
The difference between yours and my old supercharged 98 GS400 with the VVTI UZ motor looks roughly in line with factory differences between the motors (was 389 RWHP/355 RWTQ )
Very nice! No internal upgrades on the engine yet? Looking to boost my LS and was thinking similar about centrifugal. Nothing crazy but more power is always nice.

I put a Vortech V2 SQ SC-trim blower on my '96 with ~270k miles and did absolutely nothing to the engine, nothing to the exhaust, nothing to the fuel system, nothing to the transmission, nothing to the tires, exact stock appearance outside, no intercooler, nothin nothin nothin nothin. The whole setup was really cheap, most of the expense was the blower ($1000?) and the rest added up to less than $500. Battery went to the trunk. Worked perfect, passed CA smog (lol, the smog inspector was about to come down hard on me until I pointed to the CARB EO number on the blower nameplate). And it woke the car up; gave it perfect city driveability and fantastic highway pulling power. Worked awesome on 91 octane Cali fuel. Best bang for the buck mod ever. It also always attracted a crowd (at least it did ten years ago) whenever I popped the hood. Drove it like that for a couple of years, then gave the car to a family member and sold the blower setup.
edit: Forgot to mention one thing. The fuel economy before and after stayed exactly the same. I got 21-22mpg with that car the entire time I owned it (except pure highway driving where it got 27mpg)
pro charged it's a P1SC-1 Procharger. The centrifugal super chargers do look a bit like a turbo when it's all covered up though.
Nice, I am looking to get one of these and was looking to see if I can add power. What bracket are you using and what chip are you talking about? I'm new to this platform and trying to learn as much before I buy one
