Default Celsior Kit - Part 3

Hello,

I finished installing my OEM Celsior Lip kit. As previously mentioned the rear bumper needs to have holes drilled which was a little scary at first until I found out that toyota actually has the exact markings where the holes need to be (THANK YOU TOYOTA) !

This post is picture heavy but enjoy!

Started by removing the rear bumper:

Thank you Toyota for making my life easier and having the exact spot where to drill for the lip kit!

I also removed dirt from where the rear bumper sits:

Just like the front I removed any old glue residue on the inside of the lip.

Replaced the seal between the lip and bumper (same part number I used in the front).

Default Celsior Lip kit - Part 3 continued...

Thanks to Shaun I was made aware that I also needed to add double sided tape on the inside of the lip kit and bought the following double-sided tape:

Removed any old glue residue with rubbing alcohol and a degreaser.

Quick test fit before putting everything back on:

I figured i'd also give the exhaust tips a quick polish:

End result : I am extremely happy with the outcome and thoroughly enjoyed the process.

All comments welcomed!

Thanks,
Yann.

That really came together nice! Thank you for sharing so many pictures of the lip install. I still check YAJ once a week but most of the ones that come up and just tore up, even trying to buy the pieces individually. I'm going to keep searching though.

What's the next plan for your car?

Default Tan to black interior swap

Hello,

Little update regarding my journey going from a tan to black interior swap!

I've decided to swap the wood from my birdseye maple to a darker/orange colored wood - Still unsure if I prefer it and I am struggling to find a matching steering wheel.

I was also missing the window garnishes and decided to buy the front ones brand new from Lexus - Turns out I bought the last 2 left in the country !!!

Differences in wood panels : left (newer darker wood) , right (current birdseye maple)

Now in possession of all 4 black window garnishes I got to work:

Brand new parts from Lexus that were actually wrapped in cotton!

How to remove the door panel: Remove the plastic cover behind the door handle:

Remove the screw:

With the use a panel removing tool remove the window switch assembly:

Remove the screw:

Remove all 3 screws on the power part of the door panel.

Door panel removed:

Remove both grommets holding the window garnish:

New window garnish on with new grommets:

Thanks,
Yann.

Your car is looking incredible! How difficult was pulling the dashboard? I would love to put a black one in my sister’s LS but figured it might be easier to get her a different LS.

The rear lip looks nice and the black interior looks awesome with the Crystal White paint. It’s a shame a white on black LS is so rare as it’s one Of my favorite color combinations.

Hi Kira,

Thank you for the kind words! The dashboard was actually the most difficult thing I had to do on the LS (pictures will follow).

White LS430's with black interior are so rare so I figured I'd build my own!
