I think a few of you were totally missing the point of this build. I didn't want 1k+whp to set a record, or bragging rights...I wanted it because the build was purpose built to compete at events like TX2K and KOTS, and that's the level you have to bring if you're gonna be any sort of competition. I'm not building a Supra, or anything like that, because those have been done. I was hoping to be able to use the ISF platform, because I am absolutely in love with the IS cars, and how cool would it be to have a luxury 4 door car that would still run a low 9/high 8 second 1/4 mile, and still run 200+mph in the mile? And to everyone who offered help and suggestions, thank you. But I think what I'll end up doing is keeping the Lexus stuff for what it is, a beautiful, performance daily driver, and build a platform I'm more knowledgeable about. Again, Just F Me, this isn't a horsepower war, well, at least not in the sense you're implying, I'm building a race car, and its just unfortunate that I couldn't use the Lexus to do so, but regardless, I'll still enjoy them for what they are, and I'll just go LSX for the race car.

 

I know this is an old thread but im bringing it back. I frequent the TX2K (native Houstonian) events, and have friends who run in the TI events. If you have the coin to get the numbers you want you can always do a motor swap. My friend just installed a ProEFI setup in his TT Z06 and it is freaking awesome. I was wondering if the same could apply with the IS F's. Prolly not but it would be worth it to ask. If you are able to get the numbers you are looking for when you come to Houston just look for either a beater 86 Mustang coupe (fast car) or a Smoky Granite Mica 08 IS F.
