He's actually going to race his car. That would probably be the reason he wants to make north of 1K HP.

The Mustang and FBody platforms have been proven to "put the power to the ground" so not sure what the issue is here. Have you been to TX2K? Seen the videos? Anything less then 1K RWHP and you might as well leave it back at the hotel for the night.

BigReade, IMO, if you want to start looking at big power, the larger 5.7 engine might be the place to start. There are many questions that need to be answered, though.... will it even fit under the hood? I know there's a drift guy with one in a SC430... how far into this do you want go?

The neat thing about the 5.7, is that we have a tune from Toyota for it, the dealer flashes the ECU. Toyota sells the TRD Supercharger, it comes with larger injectors, fuel pump, and it rates at 504hp/550tq at about 7 psi. With headers and exhaust we are seeing roughly 550/600, the rods and pistons are at the very limit here. The fuel system will support at least 600, maybe more... I'm game to find out... building an engine to take it right now. This is for my Tundra.

My point, there are options, but they are atypical and unexplored.

OP I would call Dynosty. They have been one of the best shops for making big power in the Nissan community. I'm on the road now, but I am going to leave their most recent project. A supercharged tundra with their own tune. They used the haltech engine management system. Check it out. I will update this post when I get home.

10s of thousands to get 500-600hp? Even dropped the money, it's just not possible with out an ECU tune, so 500-600 isn't even obtainable. Oh well...to each their own. For some reason you just want big power...I guess some people just like bragging rights of I got more HP and I can burn through tires faster. Power is worthless if you can't even get that power to the ground.

99% of people who build muscle cars are rednecks. Is that an ok assumption?

I own a BMW...so WTF? fricken noobs...
UUmmm.... theres half a dozen of us on here that have put down mid 500s @ the wheels so we do have ISF's making 625-675 crank on stock ecus. Myself, Slay, DV8 ,Ekankoo, slays friend (fastest) maybe a few im forgetting but it is doable with 8-12k under the hood, less if you can do the work yourself.

I've seen darbs' setup in person... 100 shot on pump gas and 150 shot on MS109. Haven't you watched my exhaust setup video?!

intake, headers, exhaust, ported intake manifold, ported throttle body and nitrous will get you there. you can do it without the manifold porting. that just gives you much more tq earlier in our power band for daily driving. Slay was pushing a 200 shot before he pulled his motor for the big power project that has gone no where due too FL flooding... poor slay

How much of a gain in low end tq are we talking here?

This chart shows the addition of the Elite Intake manifold. Fat lines are before and the skinny ones are with the intake manifold upgrade

Using nitrous doesn't count. Would you use nitrous at every stop light? Everytime you get on the freeway? Nitrous is a time restrictive power upgrade. This whole thread has been talking about a performance build or else we'd talk about pulling the motor and making it as strong as possible and running 300 shot to make 700hp...

He wants something for tx2k, not something to race from stop light to stop light or to get on the freeway. As of now, Nitrous is our only option for big power unfortunately.

This video was a FANTASTIC video. I could take the money that you would spend on an IS F and get countless other cooler cars.

Personally, if I had the extra money that you're talking about building this 1000hp supra, I'd go buy a 1st generation BMW M3 and throw in an E92 V8 and turbo charge it for some big power. You'll have a 1000hp BMW that weighs less than 3000 lbs and for probably under $80,000.
^^lol that Supra is my buddy's who I've known since high school. It's a never ending cycle since there will always be someone with more power.

EXACTLY. never...ending...cycle!

Thats when it's no longer fun. You start having a car with so much power you can't even drive it around town and enjoy it. Fricken silly. To each their own though...some people run -16 degrees of camber and change tires every 500 miles, but they love their car.

Go buy a lambo and call Underground Racing and turbo that thing...oh but then someone probably has a Caddy V-Series with some D3 stuff making 1000+ hp too...oh but then someone is running a old school muscle car with 1000hp and 300 shot of nitrous and they're running fatty slicks...

The horsepower war is only fun when you have UNLIMITED MONEY, that's when you'll have the fastest car.
