ClubLexus First Impressions
Like the RX 500h before it, the TX 500h F Sport Performance adds a noticeable fun factor to an otherwise ho-hum driving experience. Acceleration is relatively snappy. The suspension tuning keeps the TX planted and nimble through higher-speed cornering. And F Sport seats provide a wonderful combination of comfort and sporty bolstering. The brakes are also pretty good and there’s plenty of power for city and highway driving.
This is the one to buy if you need to experience a little excitement with your utility vehicle.
But, in the context of the IS 500 F Sport Performance, and other sporty luxury SUVs, the TX 500h is a little low on thrills and driving dynamics. Off-the-line acceleration lags, there’s a lot of nose-dive when you’re hard on the brakes, and the interior isn’t as nice as other sporty SUVs like the Audi SQ5 or Q7.
