Is there another sports car like LC500 that is better?
Other than better looking (Obviously subjective) the Bentley Continental GT would be the most likely candidate. Several very well respected reviewers have found the Aston Martin DB 12 to be harsh riding / brittle on rough pavement and complained of a noisy interior cabin / road noise at cruising speeds. It would be more powerful than the LC 500 with its twin turbo V8 4 liter AMG engine.
I also read a lot of reviews of the DB12 that stated they ride very comfortable on bumpy roads in GT mode, and yes, very quiet inside when cruising lol, guess one has to test drive one extensively yourself in different drive modes to really know.
it’s not worth 3 times as much for sure …

Maybe a little more should have been prefaced to the OP’s question….”For the money,……”.
No question that the LC is an all around winner for style, comfort, and build, but a Bentley Continental is 3X the cost of a loaded LC. The AM DB12 would be right up there if I planned to spend that kind of $$$ for a GT but i actually prefer the contour lines of the LC a bit more.
I would also consider the Ferrari Amalfi if looking to spend $300K.

Agree that different reviewers have different take aways and impressions. A personal test drive is the best solution to sort things out.
I was referencing some well established YouTube reviewers JayEmm, , Harry’s Garage and Autocar.
evo.co.uk online reviews as well.

if you have the opportunity to do a test drive your impressions and thoughts would be interesting. That car is certainly a rocket but garners complaints about its very stiff and harsh ride quality. Curious if you find it to be the case with your test drive.
If you want speed and handling, the SL (vert) or GT (coupe) are the winner (at a much higher price than an LC mind you unless you buy a depreciated used model).
But build quality and engine note due to it being NA, the LC wins HANDS DOWN and it isnt even a contest. The only benz that comes close on the engine note is the SLK55 with its sonorous NA V8. But the SLK, SL, and AMG GT build quality is absolute ****. They ALL develope creaks, squeaks, or rattles (or all of the above) by the 3rd year if not sooner.
The older hard top vert SLs and SLKs are the worst offenders, but even the newer SLs and AMGs do it. The SLKs are extremly reliable. I cant speak to long term reliability of the turbo'd SL and GTs. Reliability aside though they are just noisy squeaky cars. You can tell even in a brand new one. Sit in it and push into door panels, console housing, etc. Wiggle in the seat. Everything "gives" just a little too much. The tolerances are not nearly as tight as an LC.
Mercedes does NOT build those cars with the fit & finish the LC has. I've seen a few reports of a nuissance noise from the rear bulkhead on LCs, but that is ONE noise not everyone has developed. The SLs and GTs ALWAYS develope nuissance noises, and not just one. Maybe it is due to the stiffer suspension, although the newer variants have more adaptive damping and did feel a touch softer than the outgoing versions.
Personally if I wanted the speed & handling I'd just buy a Porsche Carrera Turbo S for the money even though I love the AMG GTs styling. I lusted after a 2018/2019 pretty hard for a while, peak AMG GT years for exterior and interior styling as long as piano black interior wasnt optioned. But they simply arent built well enough for me to trust one as a forever car like the LC 500.
I feel the same way about aston martins. They look great and are a blast to thrash on, but I do NOT trust their reliability. And every used example I've driven has been squeaky or rattly in some way.
Lastly, the new SLs and GTs have EVERYTHING on a gigantic touch screen monolith posing as a center console. It is disgusting and the antithesis of a "driver's car" despite their performance. I wont ever even consider owning one of the newer ones unless Mercedes fixes the squeaky rattliness and gets rid of that goddamn tablet to bring back physical controls for the important stuff. The interior of the new SL and GT is absolute dogshit.

Thanks for your opinion. It's valuable to my exquisite life. Enjoying something with the love of your life that she enjoys isn't creepy, dude.

I appreciate your seat of the pants and actual driving experience with the cars you mentioned. Various reviewers and drivers have expressed similar concerns about squeaks, creaking and rattles in late model AMG GT/ SL. . Also Aston Martin cars. Seems to me it has to be related in some part to the very firm/ stiff suspensions. I will say that the “Car Care Nut” (YouTube ) recently reviewed a new Mercedes-Benz S sedan and voice complaints about creaky sounds and rattles throughout its interior.
Sad, Mercedes at one time was known for superb solidity and built quality. I also agree that the Porsche 911 has a much higher level of built quality. I still believe that the LC 500 has better overall built quality and fit/ finish then all of the previously mentioned cars. Built quality versus blazing accreditation performance I guess.
