Electric Power Steering Ecu
WELCOME.
I have a problem with electric power steering in the Lexus GS300 2006.
System indicator does not light up even in the moments after ignition, fuses are OK. Where is the power steering module ?? I looked next to the brake pedal but it is not there
Help

Pole Position
The power steering ECU is located underneath the battery holder in the engine bay, you need to take the battery out and the battery tray and it should be right underneath. It should be held in place by three bolts, At least this is where alldata is telling me it is... but when I find a part that sounds related to power steering on parts sites, it shows something related to power steering under the passenger side dash so... I don't know, two different things perhaps?
It looks like there are two things "steering control ecu" and "power steering ecu"... so which one is bad?

WOW so there's two o god i cant believe this Is one power control and other for signal? Because the dealer tells me that its the Computer but I don't know to diagnose both internally.
"Madcap" how did you're steering system stop working? Let me tell you this my wife is pointing finger at me for car not working when I only re-calibrated the tire pressure on car.
Has anybody herd of this tire switch under the dash to have anything to do with the EPS?

i just had a problem with mine but it was because my wire harness had gone bad. I was replacing my pre cat O2 sensor and i guess a wire broke somewhere on the harness. they are EXPENSIVE to replace. better off looking online at the OEM lexus parts if it goes bad.

thanks for the reply
I found under the battery module is
Unfortunately, unless the ECU is damaged when the power is on line K, there is no voltage, CAN line on two of the four wires is 2.5 V

So I took my car to the dealer for an intermittent power steering fail. They replaced the ecu and repaired a wire and said that it was fixed. Several days later the electric power steering failed again. This time the dealer wants to put in a new wiring harness as they are stating there is a short? Plz respond if you have seen this problem before.
