It was raining the other day and the battery was at 3 bars. Usually when it has that charge the engine kicks in to charge it as well. When i pulled into the garage to park. The car was making a loud winding sound and felt very weird. Anyone know what this could be??

Most modern cars make various noises after car is parked and turned off. Double-check the owner's manual, it could be related to the sound of a fuel evaporation leakage check.

I just bought the UX250H, what "charge bars" are you talking about? I know the ECO range of efficient driving of course, but don't see true bars showing your Electric charge?

If you look at the infotainment screen there should be a graphic interface showing the battery charge and what form of power is powering the vehicle or charging the battery, ie gas, gas\battery, battery.

To the OP, the whining noise that you are talking about. Are you driving into your garage or are you already park. When on battery power only under lower speed, Toyota\Lexus hybrid will make a whining noise.
