UX vs NX
I like the UX, and the CT before it a lot.
When trying to downsize, we did consider the UX, but honestly we wanted the panoramic view which even in the highest trim level now, is not offered in the UX. There was discussion about it on this thread:

One reason we went with the NX, is because we had never owned a hybrid, so in the end we stuck with what was familiar to us.
Another reason is going from a full size SUV to the UX was too big of a jump, so it made better sense for us to opt for in between those two sizes (the RX and UX).
We do have a 2020 NX300 Lux as I don't mind the dated infotainment and prefer all the buttons and ***** for climate control, instead of going layers into the screen for that.
I also like my grill and the old style
logo over the new grill and spelled out L E X U S one.
Just my two cents, anyway.

Many Americans think bigger vehicles are better leading to vehicles like the massive TX. I have a 2025 UX and have lots of experience with a 2025 NX. I like the UX WAY better just because it's so easy to maneuver and park, but the interior gets pretty cramped at times.
Sometimes having a large SUV does make sense when kiddos are getting big and did for us, then. Since becoming empty nesters, not so much.
I forgot to mention another reason why we chose the NX is because we still had a dog that needed to be able to fit in the back. Now that she's crossed the rainbow bridge, we still find it to be small and zippy, albeit not the UX kind of small, zippy and easy to park, but a good happy medium for us.

The NX is definitely a good balance of nimbleness and practicality. We may outgrow our UX soon with welcoming our first child to the family, but we're going to stick it out as long as we can. I love the UX and often choose it over my 3 series BMW, which can be very cumbersome to park with its long wheelbase.

I agree! A large SUV is very useful to big families. However, I know multiple empty nesters with no pets that drive full-size 3-row SUV's. I don't quite get their reasoning, but they certainly fit into the trend of Americans loving large trucks and SUV's.

First off Congrats on your first child!! I remember those days and we had a 90's sized 4Runner then which was much narrower than today's 4Runner.
I can easily see your baby growing to 2-3 or more yrs old before having to get something larger, unless another comes along and then it'll be tight, depending on how far back you have to set your front seats. I don't think carseats will fit in your 3 series.
I consider our NX the size of the 2nd Gen RX, which I loved and gave to our youngest when they started to drive.
The hub has his Tundra for work and larger loads and we also have an SC430 which we both LOVE and can't wait 'til spring when we can break it out of hibernation mode!!
And I know a retired guy that has a GX, while his wife has an NX and they also have 2 SC430s. He must still want something big to drive that will fit larger loads if needed.
