I had my car at the shop today excited about getting the RSR springs on then the tech tells me he wont do the job because both front struts are leaking. They are the original Tokico gas struts. And he said I need the whole strut not just the insert. I was very disappointed!

I"m going to price new struts but I don't know what brands to look at--I'm on a tight budget. Tokico might be too expensive and there's no way I'm going to Lexus dealer.

Please advise!!!!

Did some research--Tokico too expensive--Will probably get KYB

Did more research--looks like KYB is an all around good replacement regarding performance and price--I can get them for cost at the AutoNation dealer I work at. But I wonder how it will affect handling since the KYB will be stiffer than the rear shocks--may ride stiffer up front and understeer bit more.

Get what you can afford that is name brand. Go ahead with the KYBs.

If no budget was mentioned, I would have suggested Koni.
