Help Broke ball joint

Default Help Broke ball joint

I broke the ball joint where the upper control arm meets (passenger front) Im dumped on coils with stock wheels. I need some advice on how to replace just the ball joint. any DIY?

When that happened to me, I actually installed SPC adjustable ball joints, since like you I'm slammed on coils with stock wheels. It'll help you during the alignment. They do have OE replacement ball joints though too, which will have to be pressed in.

Where could i buy a oem ball joint? I read somewhere that i have to replace the whole upper control arm? is that true

^Used to be true, but now there are companies making JUST the ball joint itself. Google my friend.

I bought one from Napa, I think it was right around $50. Was even able to press it in without removing the upper control arm.

Edit: I found the part number ATM SBT291

I recently purchased a ball joint from MOOG. Is AWD and RWD ball joints the same?

I believe they are because the part numbers listed for the upper control arms for both RWD and AWD are the same.
