yea i thats how i do it.. sometimes its a PITA tho to finally take it out since i have to push down on the hub... unless im doing something wrong?

well...some ppl would remove the camber bolt....the lower shock bolt....and the end-link bolt....and drop the lower suspension arm. when you do this...if you remove ALL the nuts from the top hat...it will fall straight down and can hurt you.
I normally remove 2 nuts...and leave 1 nut loosened so there's no chance of the shock falling.

It's probably easier to have all the top nuts taken off, while leaving the two shock body bolts slightly loose. That way you can the two nuts off while holding the shock. It beats running back to the trunk to remove the nut while leaving the shock assembly unattended.
