Question Rotor replacement...

I was just wondering what everyone was replacing the OEM rotors with? I wanted to do an upgrade on the rotors slotted/cross drilled just to improve my braking a bit since I have 20" wheels on my IS AWD. I plan to get some ceramic pads as well to get rid of the brake dust issues that our cars have.

So my question is any recommendations for a decent upgrade that wont break the bank and a good site to order from?

Most people replace their rotors with either OEM rotors or Centric blanks. Getting slotted/cross drilled rotors will not improve your braking, neither will ceramic pads. They will only change the "feel" of your brakes, your stopping distance will not decrease. These "upgrades" may actually decrease braking performance.

I would get Centric Powerslot (slotted) rotors. You can get them from this sites sponsors.

Drilled rotors crack. After one track day at Carolina Motorsports Park, my Brembo "drilled" rotor has small cracks around every single hole on the right side front. I am actively looking for a replacement without holes.

**my mistake** both front rotors are cracked around the holes. Not exactly what one would like to see in a $300+ rotor.

The OEM low-dust pads solve the dust issue too (and they're free if you haven't done the TSIB yet) and stop exactly as well as every other brake pad does.

20" wheels have more leverage to resist braking forces so you must counter act that with larger diameter brake rotors

Please explain - if the rolling diameter is the same, how would this effect manifest itself?

Brake upgrades are always rec when u get bigger wheels I always thought just because of the added weight that comes with them.
