Are slotted rotors worth it? I am thinking of getting StopTech Powerslot rotors and wanted to know if anyone else is using them. Also, do you have to get aftermarket brake pads if you want to use those rotors or will OEM work?

 

If it is just a replacement rotor then you can use OEM pads. IMO I think they're worth it.

as far as performance go they are worthless. if you want it just for looks then go ahead

 

my 1st brake job ill get some just for looks, performance is 0 improvements as far as i know

 

Not much improvements....you'll burn those anyway when u go to the track

 

The OEM rotors provide plenty of bite already - its very doubtful that you'd feel a difference with slotted rotors. A bonus would be if they weigh less than the OEM rotors.

If you're going for a more aggressive look, go for drilled rotors. IMO, they're more eye-catching than slotted rotors. Some would argue that drilled rotors aren't as robust as OEM or slotted, but if you're not tracking your car every weekend, you will have no problems.
