I saw a 2nd gen on the side of 285 that lost the battle to crusty ball joints. His wheel was inside the fender and the fender was half off.

Make sure you get your olds and take the boot off like I did and take pitures of how much grease is in there.

When I took my car to get a wheel alignment, right after I bought it, the guy said my 2 front ball joints are no good and that I need to replace them. Did that right away, because a bad suspension is the last thing I need driving on NYC'S bumpy roads.

Is your front end making any creaking noises? Is your car lowered with bigger wheels? They shouldn't be bad at 59k miles but you never know. Ball joints are one of things where some people are lucky (high mileage w/o replacement) or unlucky (bad ball joints early on). Being lowered with bigger wheels will wear out the lower ball joints faster.
