They have different mounting point locations and/or in different locations. So, no. You can probably build one with different manufacturer's balljoints though.

Mine was done by the previous owner around 80k miles. I have been lowered since then and I'm at 105K now. I'm probably going to change them out around 140k just to be safe. I can deal with the messed up fender/repaint. What I don't want is to go careening off the road at 65mph!

I'm at 56K still....still original ball joints....been lowered since 26K. The car sits in the garage...and keeps my pooch company during the day....it only sees pavement on Sundays.

So is the consensus is to swap out the tie rods and ball joints at the same time? Who has the best deals on the tie rods (already got ball joints)?

Pete

With parts like these, I would only deal with OEM. I don't think TRD made any ball joints/tie rods for our cars? I could be wrong. This is one of those things where I will only purchase from reputable sources such as forum vendors. I'd hate to buy an advertised OEM part only for it to be a cheap aftermarket one.

no effing way. sewell is your best bet for stuff like that, price and quality wise. You can't get a pair of ball joints ALONE for under 150 i think, nevermind ball joints, AND inners, AND outers for 100.

thats reeeeeeeal shady to me...

OK guys, just thinking out loud here....

So it seems the lower ball joints fail when the GS is lowered.....more stress to it....vs...stock height.

Do anyone think installing front RCAs (thereby raising coilover height) help reduce stress to the lower ball joints?

Pete

This chit scares me... I got a 20" I was going to put on my 201 430 and lower it. There should be a recall on this...I hope everyone complain everytime you do a replacement.

It will certainly help with RCA providing the coilovers are raised back up. The guys with major negative camber are really stressing their ball joints, and that's just with the car sitting there!! Think about how much more stress it has to endure (at an angle) as you corner. I would replace them every 45-50k just for safe measures. The balljoint's rubber boots aren't going to like being at an angle for so long.
