Hey guys my 1998 GS400
- front is making SQEEEEAKING noises when I go over bumps and stuff - last time I took to the shop they grease the boots or something and it goes away, its shocks or something
- recently in last week there is a loud hard BANG when going fast over like a bump/pothole seems like some suspension is not working at all
- also along with this hard bang lack of suspention when I hit a big RAIN puddle the whole car moves left/right suddently like suspension is getting tossed side to side pretty scary at 100mph
- the steering wheel is also like 20% out of alignment

Everything is stock OEM so wondering what needs replacing ??

If so which parts have you bought are any of the EBAY kits any good or trash?

Thanks

Shop 1 - you need nothing just an alignment
Shop 2 - you need tie rods
Shop 3 - you need a new left ball joint

A week of driving in circles LOL

I replaced my ball joints less than 10k miles ago. But I accidentally burst the rubber boot that houses the grease. Occasionally when I'm reversing and turning the wheel I hear a loud clunk coming from the front left (which is the same front left ball joint whose rubber boot I accidentally burst). When I first burst the boot I filled it with grease until grease started creeping out of the rupture. I fill it every oil change. Just going through the threads here as I want to upgrade to the LS 400 brakes on my GS 400, and seeing these ball joints and hearing about the noises has me a little concerned that my front left ball joint is already shot. I tried to do a quick parking lot look-see if anything else could've been causing the noise but couldn't tell.

Park your car and turn your wheels all the way to the left or right slowly and if you hear cracking, creeking or sweeking noises from your front end you most likely have bad ball joints. That was what I'd noticed. Luckily I was going aobut 35 mph on a street that wasn't busy when it gave out, could be very bad on the freeway. Here are the pictures.
I had the same thing happen to me Lucky for me I was pulling into a gas station when it happened.

Thumbs up Thanks!

Mine squeaked for about a month before I narrowed down the part that was causing the issue. I replaced it with greasable lower ball joints, and I just add a little grease during an oil change.
