Where did you get the Upper Ball Joints?
Quote: I replaced the lower ball joints and the upper ball joints, which is essentially replacing the upper control arm as well since they are one part. Further, I replaced my right wheel bearing as it was deemed bad upon inspection.
I looked everywhere online, there are no Upper Ball Joints that is/are sold separately.

Dude everywhere I looked they only show the whole arm assembly. Not ball joint.

That's what he said, the upper ball joint is part of the upper control arm, so you need to get the whole arm:

Wow thank god everyone is alright I noticed on the lift the other day on the bottom of mine there was a really bad torn boot (balljoints)? I'm taking mine to the mechanic tomorrow.. Especially those of you who got children in the car, god forbid, this boils my blood for that reason...

Changed my front LBJ's the other day. 107,000 miles and they were a little leaky and pretty dang worn. Didn't look like they were going to snap any time soon, but they definitely were due. My tie rod ends are also pretty shot. I wish I thought to replace those at the same time. Luckily, I got the liftetime alignment at Firestone so I can replace them in the near future and get it re-set for free

If your 2GS has over 100k miles and original LBJ's...replace those suckers.

I just got my car back from the mechanic I have 121k on my gs400, he said him and 2 other guys tried to budge my balljoints and they couldnt get them to budge? Is this normal? That's crazy, Im getting them replaced anyway in a few weeks or sooner, I'm not taking any chances..

I think what he was saying is that your ball joints were fine. No abnormal play.

Quote: dealership usually has them for under $100/side since it's a common thing for GSs.

there should be a DIY somewhere...try searching.

special tools: you'll need a 2 or 3 claw SST puller. free to rent at autozone (you pay like 30 bucks up front but you get it back once you return it).

I'd do it for you for Outback Steakhouse if you were in Chicago .
...not sure why but have a craving for Outback now lol.
I'm from Chicago. Would u help me to do the LBJ replacement? I will pay u for ur time Coco-bun

Damn i havent seen this but i think i was close to getting to this. I got my mechanic to search for some better ball jonts than toyotas and he got me some 555 balljoints from japan. . . $450 a pair it dint matter the price just needed something better than oem and also got a set of daizen bushings installed. Perfect and very responsive.

ouch thats some expensive pair of ball joints

my 2001 GS300 only has 68k miles on it on stock suspension
not lowered or anything

and my mechanic found some play with the LBJ so we got it swapped out to new ones
$300 parts + labor for a cheap mechanic while he was doing my brakes (EBC woohoo! )

cant believe how fast these LBJs go!
id hate to change it every 70k!

here is the whole control arm and upper ball joint
