Default Help guys! What is this?

My left front brake was off while replacing some wheels studs. After reinstallation, this was found on the ground. What is it and where does it go? I dont want to drive around if it is needed.

don't know exactly where that goes but i'm sure you need it.. it's a pin to keep a screw/nut from coming un-done while you're driving.. maybe it's one of the nuts that holds your caliper in place.. who did the work for you? best to get it back on asap lol.. good luck

check your lower ball joint and control arm. that is most likely where it is going to be.

The cotter pin for the tie rod is also the same. I would guess that it's either for the lower ball joint or the tie rod. Good luck!

Or it might be for upper control arm ball joint as well, so you have 3 points you have to check on

i have to be honest with you, a guy like ed (lexforlife) would prob. know more than me, but i think that i agree with Dzaztrbuse... last time i changed a brake pad, i remember one of those pins holding another pin in place so that the pads won't slide out... but its safe to say that little pin NEEDS to find its home BEFORE you drive anywhere... good luck and let us know where it goes!!!

I concur with Ed as I have removed that many times from my upper ball joint to remove shocks.
