Quote: The Supra brake pads are slightly bigger than the LS400 or LS430 calipers, but this does not mean that the braking power of the LS is less than the Supra (or more ...).

How so ?

My thoughts are that more surface area in contact with the rotor = more contact patch.

Nice pics of the pad design.
what i described ... also the piston size/area will affect the braking power ... I do not have information on these

I would say ... i would prefer the LS400 over the Supra TT because:

LS400 calipers design is new than the SupraTT
LS400 calipers are lighter than SupraTT
LS400 calipers will probably give more gentle stopping, since the LS is more comparable to the GS than the SupraTT

I'll be looking for that.

In NorCal, we've done some real world 60 to 0 braking tests. In the near future we'll publish the results. It will be interesting to see how the TT performs against the LS. The TT test is done. LS test coming when we get some good wheather.

Brakes tested: stock, APracing, TT, LS We could do some Stop Techs if "certain" local members would let us test their cars.

a fellow CL member measured the pistons on both the LS and the TT.

verdict: TT pistons larger than LS.

How about a pic of a LS400 caliper bolted on an Altezza

or on a Chaser?
