Hohlraum,
You have rasied the good question about engine cover !
Will, the only way to take out the engine cover is to lossen those two big bolts
across the middle bar (Aluminum). No touch to the two brackets though.
Then, put the bar back after enginer service.
There is realy not much of spce to allow engine cover to come off without
taking out the STB bar.
Ok, just curious. There is no way the dealership isn't going to bring up the fact they had to remove the bar to do their job. The only fear is then that if you remove the bar only will you beable to put it back on without any trouble. Not much margin of error for getting those two bolts on the bar to line back up.
As long as it is easy to add and remove the bar portion only, then i don't see it as that big of a deal really.
Questions for DiamondGS4 and others who have installed the RVM STB: Did you order the bar from the RVM website? The RVM Website says this bar will not fit 2001 and up GS430 due to the black electronic box sitting near the strut. How difficult is it to lift up and remount the electronic box after installing this STB? Is this the correct bar to order for a 2001 GS430? I want to install a STB without having to remove the engine cover.
Many thanks, DJC.
RayGS3 and DJC,
I 've got these STB bars fron ebay : dohccivicna1250 (13119) on early April.
It was my concern of fittting front STB into 2001 GS430 before I place my bids on ebay.
There are two nuts set the electrical box in place. (EASY JOB)
Hohlraum,
There should not be any problem to put the strut middle bar back to two brackets after
engine service because that is the same way it has been put on without any calibration.
( just to make sure to park the car in flat ground.)
To be honest with you guys, I expect question about the rear STB installation too.
There is not much room to operate for the installation in the first place !
I will kept it to myself then.

Have you heard of anyone having problems? Jaime's beem through the Dragon and lots of other 'spirited' driving with an SC GS400 no less and NO problems.
Great great ... Thanks guys -- I was doing a search and I read someone saying "watchout for lesser known brands because ive heard of them snapping" ... Just was so scared I ordered something I'd break and have to rebuy
Okay ... now waiting for both the front and rear to come in.
