We're about due for a meet in Charlotte and I thought I'd set one up before the weather turned too cold.
I'm going to pursue a couple of ideas (not sure if these will come to fruition or not in the time we have but will give it a shot).
1) Try to connect with one of the TRD-based teams in the Concord area and get a race shop tour / do the meet at their location, then go somewhere to grab lunch or drinks. This place (for example) charges $$, hopefully can get something set up special for our group http://www.raceworldusa.net/
2) Same idea as above, but a 'non-Toyota' team where we might have some connections such as Hendrick Motorsports http://www.hendrickmotorsports.com/default_standard.asp
3) Setup a lunch at the new Whitewater rafting center. If anyone wants to raft (not me) have at it but just hang out there and check the place out, get some pics http://www.usnwc.org/
4) Cruise to Spartanburg (about an hour) and do the BMW factory tour and museum. We did the museum part on the way to the Dragon meet last month and it was pretty cool. http://www.bmwusfactory.com/build/ (arg, website says factory tours on hold right now due to retooling)
5) Set up something at the new Hendrick Lexus facility (north) before it opens... I have no idea how far along the build is or if there is even a lot for us to meet in, but I can drive by and check it out.
Other ideas or like any of those above? I'm thinking 6 - 7 weeks from now probably on a Saturday late morning. I need to check my wife's track schedule as many of her driving events are in the fall and I need to plan around those.

Hey dave, another great idea that we can do is to get a tour of the Chip Gannassi shop close to the speedway and see how they build the Grand Am cars. I'm pretty sure that in another 6-7 weeks, the racing season has ended and it would be nice to see the shop. Afterwards, we can all meet up and grab a bite to eat at Quaker Steak and Lube. How's that sound???

Yeah that would be cool too. I tried that once and they had some huge $$ amount to take our cars inside so we just did the van tour around the speedway
Count me in. I have been looking for this forum for a while now. Nice to see there are more enthusiasts in the Charlotte area. Please let me know what you decide on. I'm down for whatever. I am leaving for GT Live today, so I'll check back in on Monday. L8r.

I'll offer the same thing here I did in the Raleigh meet thread. If anyone is interested in touring some mountain roads and having a meet in the Asheville area, I will offer our shop as a meeting locale. Perhaps we can organize some type of Dyno/mountain road touring event. I know from Raleigh it was a pretty far drive, maybe Charlotte is close enough to pull something together? Hit me up if anybody thinks it sounds like a good idea, I'll be glad to help in any way I can. www.appalachianperformance.com if you want to check out the shop. We don't have any Ferrari's hanging around but I'm sure we could come up with something interesting.
