Enjoyable Car
Well, I’ve had my 2003 sc430 for about a week now. Had tints put on, dumped the power antenna for a rubber shorty, fixed the CD player by slamming the side while holding the eject button, broke the automatic door that covers the CD player, and now have to close by hand if I want that all wood look.
All I have left is to replace the chrome trim on the front hood, which came off after opening the hood. Bought that from eBay for 60. Went through all the seat settings, until I finally realized, put it as low as possible, since it’s a convertible, and u need all the roof clearance as possible. It really is a fun car and reliable as hell. The fact that the top still goes up and down like new after 20 years is amazing. I don’t know the track record of gm and ford hard top convertible reliability, but I’m guessing they don’t work after 20 years.
The real sad part is why didn’t I buy one 10 years ago. It would have been 10 years old with plenty of life ahead.

Did you try to fix the door? It is not hard. I think it’s just a bad connection or may be the switch or the motor. There is video on file for repacking the motor. Just search for it. I’ve owned my 07SC for six years now and enjoyed it every time I sat behind the steering wheel. The ML sound is incredible (all my friends said that) despite I have Monster Cassette adapter, cheap Bluetooth device and streaming music from YouTube via my IPhone.
So far, I’ve spent zero dollar for repair and that’s truly amazing.

LOL
I had a 2008 Honda S2000 that I owned for 9 years. Put about 15,000 miles on it.
I've had my 2007 SC430 for a little over a year. I've put nearly 15,000 miles on it.
I sold the S2000 for $4k more than I paid for it. Completely covered the cost of the SC430 and then some.
