Default Anyone painted pie plates? Update! Pics!

Hi guys I just bought a 2003 SC430. It’s silver and the silver pie plates are just too much. I plan to eventually swap over to the 2007 wheels. But for now I think painting my pie plates would look great thinking of painting them black. Has anyone painted theirs ? What paint and measures did you use ?

A lot of people have chosen to just take them off and go without. It's a decent look

I have the other style caps, the 5 spoke look. I painted them gunmetal with the paint from duplicolor.

any particular method you use? I’m thinking of painting my pie plates gloss black and then adding a clear coat over it ?

Has anyone ever seen black pie plates ? My car is silver and I think this might look good. Leave screws and the Lexus emblem silver and paint the plate only . Thoughts?

Id like to be supportive but I think gloss black will look terrible.
I do think a true wheel paint gunmetal will look good. I even considered picking up a set of pie plates to paint to have to swap around.
here’s the method you want to use (obviously just take the plates off the wheels):

Default Try using Plasti Dip

I’m planning on doing the same. In my opinion , those OEM wheels would look great in black, so I will be dipping mine. Go to Dipyourcar.com and you will have a wide variety of colors to choose from. Best part of all is that, plasti dip can peel off. They have matte black, gloss black, and a satin black option for wheels. Cheapest is the matte black for less than $40 for all wheels. And the satin is the one I’m doing for about $80.
