Techstream Opportunity???
First, let me thank all of you for your contributions of knowledge to this site. I have a 2003 sc430 and was wondering if anyone was sitting on a unused setup (laptop, cable, software, etc) for Techstream? I experienced this situation with my Boss Hoss motorcycle, and was surprised at how many unused parts people were seeking, and I could help them with. Purchase and shipping to the Hoosier State.

Ok guys, I've acquired a laptop with XP Service Pack 3, and it has 64bits. I see that there is a new version out(14.00.019) and newer cable (2.0.4). Is this what I would be looking for. I'm a novice on the computer, but would love to have Techstream instead of putting my wallet out on the counter every time I visit a Lexus Dealer. Thanks in advance.

The 64 bit portion of the equation will make things a bit more difficult. But if you purchase your Techstream from a vendor that can handle the install for you (on-line), then you should be fine. A 32 bit machine is fairly easy to install it on but the 64 bit machine takes some register manipulation. (Not something that I was willing to take on but some of the more pc savvy folks here did.) A few members have bought the Techstream from vendors who did the manipulation for the member and it worked out well. (I used an old weasy 32 bit machine that we had no further use for.)
I'll have to let some of the more Techstream savvy members speak to the version 14 issue. (I'm running version 8, though I'd like to upgrade to a later version, just not sure how to go about that short of starting over.)

I took this from this page: https://www.lifewire.com/am-i-runnin...indows-2624475
Windows XP: 64-bit or 32-bit?
- Select Start and then choose Control Panel.
- Select Performance and Maintenance.
- If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Just double-click or tap-and-hold on the System icon and proceed to Step 4.
- Choose System from the bottom of the Performance and Maintenance window.
- Locate Systemto the right of the Windows logo.
- You should be on the General tab in System Properties.
Under System: you'll see basic information about the version of Windows XP installed on your computer:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version [year] means you're running Windows XP 32-bit.
Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version [year] means you're running Windows XP 64-bit.

There are no 64-bit versions of Windows XP Home or Windows XP Media Center Edition. If you have either of these editions of Windows XP, you're running a 32-bit operating system.
Now you know if you're running Windows XP 64-bit or 32-bit.
DshngDaryl, I just checked my laptop and I have Windows XP Media Center Edition which means I have 32-bit. Thank you so much for your computer knowledge. This will make installing Techstream much easier. I'm going to purchase Version 14.00.019 with the 2.0.4 cable.....unless someone has a reason why I shouldn't.
Thanks again...Ron
