Need help with dome lights
Well. What someone did was to cut out the original light bulb mounting tabs for the type 57 bulbs and installed LED's. Do they not work? I hope they do, because unfortunately, the two contact points have been completely removed. And as Cheesy as they were (believe me, they were) they are riveted in with steel rivets and are going to be impossible to replace. I see a couple on ebay at $100.00. Let us know what you want to do.

Well.Since you have to get those from China and it will probably take about three weeks to get here even if you ordered them tonight, I would say come back and ask then. I can give you step by step instructions. Do you have any electrical on electronics background? Its really simple. Just two wires each.

Very cool. This is the cheapest I have found that setup.

You know how to remove the Map Light correct? If not, there are two phillips head screws, one on each side, remove those two, then gently pull the Map Light fixture.
If you have a multimeter, find out which wire feeds the 12Vdc to the old LED's. It's either going to the White wire or the Black wire but I do not know which without seeing how it's wired in the back.
Once you determine which colored wire is feeding 12Vdc to the Map light assembly, unplug the single plug that supplies 12Vdc to the Map Light assembly.
Now you have the whole thing disconnected from your car, in your hand.
Remove the old LED's. Take ONE new LED and figure out how you are going to mount it inside the Map Light assembly lamp enclosure. Glue, double back sticky tape whatever and run the wires through the hole behind the reflector out the back.
Take the second plug with the red and black wires that look like it is connected to a fuse and plug the black plug into the LED assembly plug. Cut off the Red and Black Wire from the end that looks like a fuse and strip the insulation back approximately 1/2". This just gives you plenty of wire to work with.
So, you now should have a red wire and a black wire with 1/2" of copper wire exposed coming out the back of the Map Light assembly on one side. Remember, we will repeat this process for the other side after we confirm proper hook-up.
This is the part that I cannot answer with 100% certainty because I don't have the installation instructions, plus your Map light assembly has already been modded, but my guess is the red wire goes to the 12Vdc and the Black wire goes to the other side which would be return.
The funny thing about LED's is sometimes they work opposite as what you would normally expect. It depends on the type of LED.
So, connect the red wire where the white wire was connected to on the back. Do not connect the black wire yet to where the old black wire is at. Turn the map light switch on to the one you are trying to test first. Plug the Map Light assembly back into the plug in the roof. So now, you have the whole thing hanging, one wire is hooked up and nothing works. Now touch the black wire of the new LED to the location where the old black wire was connected to. Does it light? If yes, then you are just about done. You just need to disconnect the Map Light assembly again and finish wiring up the second LED on the opposite side and dressing everything up.
If it does not light, the you need to put the Red wire where the Black wire is connected and try again. It's going to work one way or the other. Good luck and send us some picks of how it you did it.
