I have never seen one this bad...
mine had a bubble.
i placed a small hole and used a needle to inject adhesive...it’s not perfect but it is still fine.
Well, its that bad because of me. I made a couple of costly mistakes before I found this forum. That was one. I thought, "hey, I'll just push the bubble out" not understanding the reason for the bubble in the first place. It didn't take but a few seconds for me to realize my mistake. But you cant get mad at yourself right? So, I saw in that thread you posted or a sub-link to another thread that they were going to use a small diameter hypodermic needle to try and pull the air out so that hopefully the glue could rebond to the cover material but they never came back with any results. Thanks.

Nothing wrong with trying it first. You won’t hurt anything. I removed the air by making the small hole but the original adhesive did not stick well.
if I was in your situation, I would do what I did before in three different places...you don’t inject much glue...and you just gently move it around and make the area flat again.
i used too much glue and just pushed it back out.
be gentle and take your time...I think you will be happy with the results.
you can always pick up a package tray on eBay...
Yea. Looked into the ebay package tray replacement. Not bad at less than $70.00. And I can do the work myself. I was just hoping for that "miracle" fix idea that I would never come up with.LOL. Thanks.

Are you saying you want perfect?
what I and others did was close.
Perfect? Sure. LOL. but Im also realistic too. Did you use super glue as your bonding agent? Sorry its late and I haven't had a chance to go back and read the full post on your repair. Thanks for the info.

I finally got around to my package tray bubble fix. Came out excellent. And less than five bucks.
I went to the pharmacy and bought a package of diabetic syringes. Poked the needle at the end of the bubble and used it to suck the air out. Compared to the first photo, I'm over the moon in how well that simple solution worked out.

you do great work Paul. Well done. Yours came out so much better than mine.
My bubble came up last summer or fall and I've been waiting for a day like today (fairly warm and I had a few spare moments) to try to remove it. So the pictures are the before and after. I used an old syringe to poke a hole and suck the air out. I tried to roll it flat but that didn't seem to go anywhere. So I put a piece of flat wood on top of it and a 2 1/2 lb weight to see if over time it will flatten out. I even tried rolling it flat with a 3" roll of tape and heating it up with a hair dryer but it never improved past what the picture below shows.
(I also disabled my top by retracting the "keep out" cover in the trunk hoping that will remind me to take the weight off before popping the top again.) This is the bubble when I started. This is the bubble when I finished. As you can see, the outline is still there with a slight raised area around the edge. I'm hoping that with time and a little weight the edge will flatten out.

mine actually looks just like yours...I have a spare package tray but it is a PIA to change...
I was thinking that maybe I should use adhesive like you did BGW but since your still shows the outline, I think that I'll see how this route goes first.
However, yours does look a little bit flatter than mine but maybe that is just the freshly stretched leather. I put some leather conditioner on it hoping that will help encourage it to go back to its original shape. Time will tell. I considered laying the 2 1/2 lb weight directly on the tray and in the sun but decided that the sun could iron an even larger circle on the tray from the weight (or worse). So I left the wood in between them.
It may be key to catch the bubble early in its rise to reduce stretched memory.
