Here are my key takeaways: First, turn off your virus protection and firewall! Then, install the software and driver according to the instructional video on the DVD (or on Youtube). You can then connect to the vehicle and run your tests, etc. Never have the virus protection/firewall running at the same time as the software!
I use an old throwaway laptop running Windows XP Professional.

Good point and you are spot on!!!
Mine is an old XP laptop meant for nothing else...
WARNING: don’t do your finances from this laptop... ;-)
Someone just asked me if the Toyota TPMS sensors come with all the parts needed for installation...Yes, see post 17 above.
i looked at the private message, went to find this thread, went back and the PM was gone.
i think it was iolmaster who asked the question...hope you see this post!

Yeah, that was me. I have a short memory. I asked the same question back in September and BGW70 answered it then also.
I guess I will find out when they get here but I just ordered all four of the 2006 TPMS sensors from mylparts.com and I did it over the phone. I asked the guy if there was anything else I needed to install them. He indicated I needed a kit of sorts that was about $7 each and I declined. These are the Toyota parts not the Denso. I guess I will find out Thursday or Friday if the kit I ordered comes with everything or the guy just didn't know what he was talking about.
I paid $280.00 no freight. The reason I did not contact Belle Lexus is they normally advertise that there is freight involved. Oh well either way not too bad..
You will need the fitting kit. I learned the hard way.
I just got my four TPMS sensors. These are the ones that have color designations for an 06. They do in fact have everything that is necessary to mount them to the rim. No kit needed. Now the problem I do have. I went out to the car to check the Techstream software that I have used successfully in the past and it will not connect to the car. I have no idea why. Same computer same car.
You should look into the Autel dual frequency sensors they work on either 315MHZ or 433 Mhz
programming is either with their tool or tech stream the same as an OEM sensor. You can get 4 with metal or rubber stems for about $125 shipped. I use these every day in my shop and they work on all cars. The stems are quick release/ Just push a button and switch them over. I installed 4 in my 13 Rx and 4 in my sc as a tester before we started using them. Autel donated me a few dozens when they first came out so we could see how they work. A year later I will say they are great and have made a big cost acceptable.

The listing says you need the autel programmer to program them. Though I have an Autel code reader, I don't have the programming feature. Can you give us a brief overview on how you would do it in techstream?

Let me back up and ask what would you do if you have a new OEM sensor? How do you get it to read the data? I did read that Autel says you need their scanner and I do use it because its handy and easy. I will try tomorrow to program an Autel sensor with Toyota software and see if it will work.

On the older SC's there are 4 color coded sensors. You need to match the color with your bad sensors color. Then you pair the sensor to the car by putting the car into programming mode and changing the air pressure in the tire with the new sensor by five pounds.
