Like the immobilizer works but the TPMS doesn't.

What firmware cable version and techstream has been known to work on a 2004 sc430?

Thanks
Please provide additional information, like the version cable, computer OS version, a pic of your computer screen when it is not seeing an ECU.

it seems like if it works with one ECU, it should work with them all.
how do you know it works with the immobilizer?
can you turn head lights on/off, raise/lower windows, lock/unlock doors with the techstream software?

i am also confused about what cable and software I need for mine. I have read thru the posts and still confused. I know the bus changed on the 06 and later models/
I have a 08 SC430, I have a Asus Transformer Book T100 32 bit with Windows 10 home, will this work or do i need to find laptop with XP?
What is the correct cable, software and a good site to purchase it from?

Thanks, Tom

i think it was cable v2.0.4 that worked on my relatives 2010 Camry, which should be the same as your 2006.
my 2002 SC430 uses the older cable version, I think it was 1.4.1 or something like that.

as for win10, the techstream software can be difficult to load. I run mine on an old laptop with XP.
some on here have had success running techstream on win10.

ebay is a good source for techstream

So i took the plunge and bought the Techstream software (v10.10.018) and cable (J2534- No idea how to check firmware on it) and installed it on a Win7 32 bit system. Seems that everything installed correctly but I have no idea how to use this software. I launched the interface and it asks for a key. Did anyone else have this problem? If so, how do we bypass it, or will Techstream still work without the key? I haven't attempted to connect to my 2002 SC430 but thought I'd ask first before doing anything else. Hope someone can offer advice. Thanks.

remember, what you purchased is hacked. Read all the files or contact the seller, if no luck, plenty of google info, still if no luck, find a tecky friend, last resort, request your money back!

I bought one....was told it would work on my windows seven machine. Sent with specific instructions on how to load software....how to bypass key. A lot of computer mumbo jumbo. I couldn't get it to work ......contacted seller in china...he was very helpful...he spent a couple of hours trying to get everything working...never did...he sent me another cable...I tried to load it...didn't work.I looked at buying a laptop at local comp store for $85....but decided to cut my losses and said F-it. I am retiring soon...so some day when I am bored I will try it again.

Hope your experience is better.

I finally purchased the cable and software from Amazon. This is what I got

I found a youtube video on how to install it here.
The software is ver. 12.00.127 and the cable is 1.4.1. I installed it on my old dell latitude d620 32 bit and windows 10 and I have a 08 SC430.
The install went just like the video and when i plugged it in and connected to vehicle it seen the vehicle and works great. Now all i need to do is learn how to use it. The software has a help document that I can read through.
If anybody has any pointers on how to use it that would help.
One question, do you think it will work on a 2016 RX350?

You are the first person I know that has gotten the cable version 1.4.1 to work on an 08. Normally that requires the newer 2.0 firmware. How do you know it is version 1?

what do you want to do with the software?
most people change the setting on their car.
just click on the customize button, I think that is what it is called.

you can also play with the different ECUs, like roll your windows up and down with the TechStream software. That will let you become more familiar with the software.

I checked on the mini CD and there is a file named MCI Driver for Toyota-cable 2.0.1 so it is probably the newer 2.o firmware.
Is there another place to check the cable firmware?
But I am having a problem, after I connect to the vehicle I do not have a customize button to make changes and I think I should have a utility button for some changes like in the TPMS.
Any ideas?

thanks

i think I found my problem not having a customize button to change settings. I downloaded and installed software version 12.10.019 and now it looks like i have my customize button and several others that were missing on the software version 12.0.127 that came with my purchase from amazon.
hope this will help somebody that is trying to get techstream to work.
Now it's time to play with it and learn how it works. One thing I may want to do is program a 2nd set of TPMS sensors on a spare set of wheels I may purchase. I can see the main set of sensors but not sure how to add the 2d set.

I have an old version of Techstream with no key registration required. I run it on an old IBM laptop with Windows XP 32 bit. I downloaded from here:

The link includes a publicly accessible DropBox link to the software as well.

It works on all my Lexus vehicles (2006 SC430, 2009 LX570, 2003 RX300, 2001 IS300). Customize options and all.

Also I'm not sure what changed between my version v9.30.xxx and v12.0.xxx.

I think it has to do with a switch in the passenger footwell. You can have two set of TPMS', one for Winter Tires and one for Summer tires. You use the switch to go from season to season.

I have never used it, so you probably want to do a search for" winter tires tpms" or something like that.
