I can't find the diagram for disabling the NAV speed lockout. If you are interested in disabling the phone dialing lockout, that is a simple wire cut and does not have to be on a switch. Cut wire #18
Two notes: 1. Your phone display will always appear and behave like it does when you are stopped; 2. As Habious says, I post this so your PASSENGER can dial while you are in motion. I assume no liability if you, contrary to these directions, enter the number yourself and rear-end someone.
I put mine on a switch (an old high beam headlight foot switch!) because I like the "one touch dialing" to be the default display most of the time when I am moving. If you are in motion and have the wire cut, the dial pad will appear, just like it does when you are stopped.
So maybe only generation 2/3 will still allow the bypass to work. I'll have to check which version my DVD is but folks were already saying that theirs quit working on (or before) I got my latest version. I did notice that there was a slight change in the procedure. (I'll have to go and dig up my notes to see what the latest is.)
Those of us with Gen 2/3 Nav. systems ('02-04) still have the override capability, even with the latest firmware/map data.
Those with the Gen 4 Nav. systems (05-09) lost that capability 2 or 3 updates ago.
Those with the Gen 4 Nav. systems that lost the ability due to the update can't go backwards in firmware and get the ability back (I think it's POSSIBLE to factory reset the system and load an older firmware into it to get it back but, I have no idea how to do that, and certainly wouldn't recommend it).
The Beatsonic kit is a pretty easy plug-n-play system...no wire-cutting required. The only real trick is running the flat wire up through the rear firewall and through the backseat area to install the button in a driver-accessible location.
